"Handsome fighters never lose battles." - Vega

Ah, it's taken me awhile, but I finally churned out another couple of Vega fanarts. The rough for this has been sitting in my sketchbook for several weeks and only now have I decided to colour it. I use a slightly different style from my previous Vega fanart, and I'm actually pretty happy with how it turned out.

The overall look of this piece is inspired by the above quote and in contrast to the other variant of this piece, it reflects his elegance, sophistication and most importantly, his narcissistic nature. Vega, a nobleman by day, believes himself to be impossibly beautiful and so I illustrated him in a very pleasant moment, admiring one of the few things equal to his pristine looks: a rose. A very light theme, just skimming the surface of Vega's character.

(A typical prettyboy moment. I've always loved the fact that Vega thinks himself as almost godlike when it comes to his appearance. Thus, the unreal glow. The rose was an afterthought. I thought I'd give him something to look at besides a mirror or a massacred opponent.)
