Stone Cold Part 3

Roxanne's blank eyes blinked and the emotion flooded back into them. So many baffling, terrible, beautiful emotions. With the equip spell that bound her to the GHI no longer in her control, she regained control of her body, if only for a moment.

But now, Leo lay on the ground. Slowly he got to his feet and in a mono-tone voice declared his attack: "Gadget Dragon, attack Golem of War. Gadget Flame Thrower."

"Leo." Roxanne whispered. "Thank you." She loosely straightened her posture and closed her eyes, smiling where she stood, but a sad, relieved smile.

The mechanized dragon opened it's mouth and let lose a bright flame that destroyed Golem of War and reduced Roxanne's Life Points to 0. A single tear rolled down her face as she was consumed in flames and thrown back from the impact. The holograms faded and, just as Luke did she screamed and writhed in pain as if electrocuted, the thing in her chest smoked and cracked and she ceased to move.

Leo regained his senses and cried out "Roxanne!" He ran to her and kneeled at her side. "Roxanne."

"Joan, over here!" The stranger called.

"Yes, sir!" A blonde girl made her way to Leo and Roxanne and Leo recognized her as the shopkeeper's daughter. "Excuse me." She hurriedly but politely said to Leo, who immediately got up. Leo turned to the stranger and asked aggressively, "So who are you?"

"My name is Adrian Gecko." He said coolly. "And you are Leonard, Luna's brother."

While Joan put a defibrillator to Roxanne's chest, Leo aggressively approached Adrian and grabbed him by his collar. "Where is my sister!" Leo noticed a large man behind Adrian who approached, but Adrian, contrary to Leo's rage, calmly raised his hand for the hulking fellow to stand down.

"Your sister... just because I know her name doesn't mean I know her whereabouts." He returned Leos gaze unblinking until Leo let go, then pushed in his glasses.

Once more, Joan defibrillated Roxanne, and this time she took a deep breath. With that breath, life filled her lungs. Her own life.

"Roxanne!" Leo called out, relief diminishing his grief and rage. He jogged back to her and as she sat up he held his hand against her back.

Then she looked at him and in a weak voice said "Hey." With just that one word, a strange feeling came over him. The same strange feeling that often subdued him in the past. Suddenly, once again, he was shy and couldn't bring himself to speak to her.

Blushing, he finally pushed out a reply; an even weaker "H... Hey."
