The Wednesday Word: Vehement

vehement. adjective. Intense; impassioned; violent.

I like this word as a strong word to describe violent or really intense situations. If nothing else, vehement or its adverb form vehemently just straight-up sounds intense and violent. So yeah, consider it for something some time.

He gazed at her across the room with vehement desire...

He punched the baby in the face vehemently.

I just can't get as vehemently obsessive about MST3K as some people, and they need to accept that...

I swear, the above examples have nothing to do with anything anywhere. Seriously, why would I lie about that?

(Adverb form: vehemently; noun form: vehemence/vehemency.)
