Chpt 9- Fated Reunion

“So where is she then?” I asked Riku.

“She's in the quarters here, on the first floor. I'll go get her.” He headed for the door, but stopped and looked back to tell us something. “You all can wait here if you want.” I glanced at Nero and Luna and then ran toward Riku.

“I'll come with you!” I declared, taking my arm in his.

“Don't leave me alone with this!” Luna shouted to me as she pointed at Nero.

“Um..no..thats ok,” I replied as if she had asked me a yes or no question.

“What?! I didn’t ask you a question!” After that I left the room with Riku, shutting the door behind us and leaving Luna and Nero alone together.

“So...Luna darlin'...” Nero said as he began to walk closer to her.

“Come any closer and I swear I will not hesitate to throw you out that window,” Luna threatened, glancing at the door to the veranda. Nero stopped in his tracks at that moment, looking a bit shocked.

“Ah, as stubborn as ever. Don't worry though, you'll warm up to me soon enough.”

“I highly doubt that.” A few minutes of awkward silence later, Riku and I came back into the bedroom. But it wasn’t just us two, for we had in two yet another one of our childhood friends.

“Luna, how nice it is to see you again,” our childhood friend greeted Luna.

“Right back at you Sieve,” Luna replied.

Sieve was another white wolf, although she didn’t live in Soule, but in a desert far away. The desert, called Hanta Desert, is humid, dry, and desolate all year round. Sieve has never had to worry about humans finding her and her family that lived in Hanta, for the desert is much too harsh for the fragility of a human. Unfortunately, that doesn’t mean that they are completely safe from any danger. One day, twelve years ago, a group of cats armed with weapons traversed into Hanta. The group stumbled upon Sieve and her family’s house. The cats struck swiftly and killed Sieve's mother. Her older brother and father were a bit of a challenge for the band of cats to get rid of, but that didn’t stop them from managing to kill her father.

All that was left was Sieve and her brother. Realizing the great danger they faced, her brother sent Sieve off so that she could escape with her life. She escaped through a back door in her house and then ran as fast as her little legs could carry her. The cats didn’t notice her escape, for they didn’t chase her.

After a few days of running aimlessly, the young Sieve came upon Howling Falls. She collapsed there from exhaust and hunger. Sieve was later found and taken in to the Sanctuary, cared and treated for, and raised by the citizens and soldiers there. That was when she met Riku and Nero, and then later when the wolves of Soule visited Himitsu, Luna and I.

Sieve is the oldest out of all four of us, being eighteen. She had purple hair that reached above her waist and spiked at the tips. She had blue eyes that were a shade lighter than Luna and mine. Sieve also had tan skin that emerged as a result from being in the desert's sun constantly.

Since desert's are hot but windy, its wise to dress appropriately, for if you don’t, you could suffer from heat stroke, wind and sunburn. Sieve wore clothing appropriate to protect her from Hanta's elements. She wore a black tank top with gold trim, a long Arabic cloth that served as a skirt and stretched all the way down to her ankles, and was left partially open in the front. Underneath the skirt was a long gold strip of fabric with Hanta's tribal patterns spiraling down it. Sieve also wore brown sandals, a black choker, and a gold necklace. If Sieve's appearance didn’t shout “desert dweller”, nothing would.

Sieve gathered Luna and I into a warm, heartfelt hug.

“It's so great to see my favorite twins again!” She exclaimed.

“Hey! What about us?!” Riku and Nero protested. Sieve laughed at their silly behavior and then pulled the two into our enormous group hug.

“This is just like when we were young, all together,” Sieve commented, enjoying the hug.

“Just like old times,” Riku agreed with a smile.

“A little crowded though...don’t you think?” Luna struggled to get out of the group hug.

“But we love it!” I said with joy. Then Sieve pulled away from the hug and we all disbanded as well. She put a hand on her hip and looked at Luna and I with a thoughtful expression.

“So you two, what did you really come to Soule for?”
