Chpt 7- Riku?

“What a nice room!” I exclaimed.

We stood near the doorway inside our room on the second floor of the three-story sleeping quarters for visitors of Soule. Riku told us that he picked out the nicest room in the whole building, complete with carpeting, air conditioning, a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom with two beds, small living room, and any other convenient necessity. There was even a sliding door in the bedroom that led to a veranda with a nice view of the Sanctuary.

“I'll leave for a bit so you two can get situated. I'll grab some food while I’m at it too,” Riku said and left the room, closing the door behind him. I went to explore our bedroom to find the two full-sized beds looking plush and comfortable.

“Rest!” I said and ran towards the bed closest to me with open arms and plopped down onto it, laying on my stomach, snuggling into the bed. Luna sat down on the other one, which was closest to the veranda.

“I suppose I could get used to this,” Luna said as she tested the bed out to make sure it was comfy enough for her.

“Suppose? Come on Luna, this is heaven on earth and you know it!” I yelled at her. “You’re just mad because you miss home,” I added with my face in the pillow.

“Hmph, yeah...riiight,” she replied. Somehow she had managed to hear my last remark. “I’m glad to be away from that dreadful place!”

“It wasn’t dreadful! It was lovely because it was home.”

“Oh come on Lee! Get a grip on reality, we were prisoners in our own home!”

“No,” I returned,” they were just trying to protect us!” Luna shook her head, closed her eyes, and placed two fingers on her right temple, as if the arguing had given her a headache.

“Dammit! Don’t you every shut u-” Before Luna was able to finish her sentence we heard our door slam open, and then a few seconds later Riku walked into our bedroom. He must've forgot to bring our food and instead decided to change, because he wore different clothes.

“Now now ladies,” Riku said,” there’s no need to fuss, I’m here now.” He casually and confidently strolled over to Luna. “My my, aren’t you looking extravagantly beautiful today.” At that, my and Luna's jaw dropped. I think I felt mine hit the floor, and perhaps Luna's as well. Luna quickly composed herself. She stood up and then slapped him hard on the cheek.

“Yow!” He said as he rubbed his cheek,” I think I heard that echo.”

“What the hell do you think you’re doing?!”

“Why, just commenting on a lovely lady of course.” Luna slapped him even harder that time.

“Ya got yerself a good arm there gorgeous,” Riku said while holding his hand to his cheek. Luna raised her hand as a threat and glowered at him menacingly. Riku put his hands up in surrender. “Alright, alright. Heel doggie, sheesh.” He turned around and started walking out of our bedroom. “Better leave while I still have my face,” he mumbled to himself as he left, his voice fading as he did. I heard the door close as he left our room.

“Phew,” Luna sighed. “Glad that’s over, what was up with him I wonder.” She sat back down on her bed looking mystified. I was still extremely upset, and sat on my bed with my arms crossed, my head tilted toward the ground, and a sad pout on my face.

Not too long afterword did we hear our quarter's door open and then Riku came once again into our bedroom, this time carrying a tray of food with him as he said he would bring. Luna and I both got up from our beds and walked over to him.

“I see you two have gotten yourselves situated here nicely. I brought a variety of foods here just in case-” At that moment Luna slapped him, making him drop the tray of food. He put a hand on his face.

“Ow! What did you-” I then slapped him hard on the other side of his face before he got to finish his sentence.

“Hello! OW! What was that all about?!” He yelled at us as he held both sides of his face, one side more red than the other, the one I slapped.

“You know what you did,” Luna replied as she went over to her bed and sat down. Riku looked at me and our eyes met, his asking for an answer. I quickly glanced away and walked over to my bed in angry silence.

“Come on guys, tell me what I did,” he said, walking closer to us.

“Stay boy!” Luna shouted, pointing at him in command as if he were a dog.

“W-what?!” Riku asked, feeling betrayed. Then someone came into our bedroom. Someone who looked exactly like Riku, but he was wearing different clothing, the same clothing worn when he first strolled into our room. Then it hit us. Riku had a twin.
