They Call Me Danna...Sasori no Danna...

By "they" I actually mean Daku, my boyfriend. Well, I guess I should start with an introduction. Raven asked me to be a guest poster on this world and to tell about my life, in story form. So, here I go!

My name is Excel. I also go by Sasori, or Saso-rin. I live in what's known as the Bible Belt of the USA. I'm currently a sophomore at a Presbyterian college, though I claim the Assembly of God denomination. I'm majoring in Art and Secondary Education. I'm also thinking about getting licensure in Special Education, but that'll have to wait until I get my Art licensure. I've been an anime fan since I was 14. I'm currently 20, so I've liked anime for 6 years. My favorite animes would have to be "Naruto", "Hellsing", and "Saiyuki". I also like "Ranma 1/2". I am a cosplayer. The main character I cosplay as is Sasori. I'm also working on a female Ranma costume, as well as an OC who is currently nameless. I guess she'll be the Mercury Dragon, my first OC (I don't have very many). Obviously, I like drawing. I also like painting. I'd have to say my favorite medium to work with is oil paint. Unfortunately, oil paints cost too much for me to be able to have handy. I am experienced in many different media: clay, pencil, charcoal, ink/color, computer graphics, glass etching, painting, and woodburning. I also like to write poetry and fiction. I'm currently working on a vampire novel. However, I started it when I was 17, so don't tell me I'm copying off of the "Twilight" saga! In fact, I hate "Twilight". I'm personally a fan of Anne Rice's vampires. I owe my love of art to my paternal grandfather, who, before I could even sit up by myself, would hold me on his lap and, holding a pencil in my hand, help me draw. He also used to spoon-feed me coffee, which my parents disdained, as they hate coffee. So, I owe my Starbucks addiction to Grandpa as well. I'm a very spastic and energetic person, once you get to know me. I'm shy by nature, but I can make friends pretty easily. Since going to Drum Major camp my junior and senior years of high school, I've become more outgoing. My music taste is just as spastic as I am. I listen to rock (all forms), techno, rap, pop, country (but no bluegrass!), classical (think Bach), foreign music, video game music, and "mood" music (like what you'd hear at a spa). I currently have 2646+ songs on my computer. As far as pets, I only have one. He's a Betta fish. His name is Aidan. As I mentioned, I have a boyfriend. We're secretly engaged, actually. We don't really want everyone around us knowing, so the only people who know are a couple of extremely close friends. My parents probably suspect, mainly because I found the perfect ring, which just so happened to be on clearance, and I asked my mom if I could help Daku buy it, on the stipulation that he would pay me back for the portion I payed for. We've been together for a year and nearly 3 months. If you want the story of how we met, you may find it HERE. I conveniently typed it up as a work of fiction. Daku actually got me into the most interesting activity ever. He is a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, or SCA. It's basically a medieval reenactment group. Unlike Rennaisance faires, the SCA tries to keep all their goings-on as close to historical fact as possible.

Well, I guess that's all I've got to say for now! I look forward to reading about other people's life stories soon!

Stay classy, Otakuites!

Excel~
