theOtaku Fan Challenge!

Greetings, my fellow otakuans!
Today, I bring forth a challenge to you all. Read on, good fellows!

A common thread of discourse amongst anime fans is "Who is your favorite character?"
Today, I ask not just "who" but "why?". I want to know just why you like who you do. Is it because of their emotional journey? Their troubling past? Their hawt glasses? Whatever the reasons, feel free to type your heart out!

Objective: Take a week to think about who your favorite character is and why. Then, write a post about it on one of your worlds.
Also, if you decide to enter, please either send me or give the link in the comment box once you've finished it. I'm curious to see what you all say!
Plus, if we get enough participants, I might just post links to all the entries at the end of the week, this coming Saturday night. (Please specify if you do not want your post included at the end of the week).

"Do I have to pick just ONE character?"
Yes. I know it can be hard. Lots of people will say they can never pick just one.
If you have two (or even three) tied for first place, then just pick the one that is easiest to write on in terms of this challenge.

"Do they have to be from anime/manga?"
No. As long as they're a fictional character, it's perfectly fine! Books, TV, Movies, etc., it's all acceptable.

"What if I don't have a favorite?"
Wow, you're weird then.
But seriously, if you don't have anyone you could call a "favorite" character yet you still want to participate, then just pick the character you find is the most interesting.

"How long does it have to be?"
As long as you want it to be, really. It could just be a couple sentences, or you could write an essay if you so wish. Although, really, let's keep it within reasonable limits; no novels, please. :P

"What about spoilers?"
Don't worry 'bout them. If you need to use spoilers to show that you started liking this character after a particular event, then go ahead. Just make sure to still use those spoiler tags.

Other Guidelines:

1) Keep it PG-13; you can say you like a character for physical reasons, but please don't go into too much detail.
2) Use a separate post; please don't write your entry in one post and then go about your usual blog activities in the same one.

Example: Here's an example essay you can use as reference; Why I love Shino.

Now, get out there and write your little butts off!
Oh, and have fun! :D
