Shadow flicked her ear upon hearing leaves crunching under her own paws. She trudged through thick undergrowth, but the thickness of it didn't bother her. She knew this part of the forest very well, and was confident. With her tail and head held up high, the flicked her tail, beckoning her apprentice to come foward. "Batpaw, hurry! The prey isn't going to hunt itself." Batpaw let out a sigh, knowing how impatient her mentor was. "Im coming!" Batpaw pushed through ferns, and was instantly engulfed with scents of a waterfall. She glanced at her mentor, then at the waterfall.
Shadow pounced up on a boulder, then disappeared out of Batpaw's sight. When Batpaw made sure Shadow wasn't near, she padded around the boulder, coming upon a collar. It was yellow with dog and cat teeth studded on it. "Good, its still here. I can't bear to imagine what I would do if-." Batpaw was then interuptted by screeching and yowling. Her neck fur stood on end, and her eyes were filled with fear. She knew who those yowls were coming from, and she needed to help Shadow, fast.
Batpaw unsheathed her claws and scrambled up the boulder, just high enough to see the battle. She reconized a black pelt, along with a ginger pelt. She instantly cringed when she saw Shadow covered in blood. Batpaw unseathed her claws and slithered down the boulder. She crocuhed low to the ground, out of the attacking cat's sight. She watched the black tom and ginger she-cat cautiously and waited for them to sheathe their claws, then she pounced.
She landed on top of the black tom, and having no time to think, sunk her claws into his shoulders. The black tom yowled and flung Batpaw off. Shadow widened her eyes as she saw Batpaw hit a tree. "Batpaw!" Shadow darted off towards her, but before she can get near Batpaw, the black tom jumped in front of her. He parted his lips into a wicked grin, then started talking in a voice that made Batpaw shiver. "It's been a while, Shadow." Shadow spat at the black tom, wanting to claw his muzzle.
"You have no buisness here, Scourge. Get out, or else-." Scourge quickly interuptted Shadow, "Or else what? You'll get you 'clan' over here so they can claw my ear off? Hah. Even I expected more from a clan leader like you, Shadow." Shadow snarled, fury building up in her. "You messed with the wrong clan." And with that, wings appeared on Shadow's back. They were beautiful white angel wings, followed by a gray mist wrapped around them, giving them a mythical look. Scourge snorted, holding back a laugh. "You think THAT will stop me? Ha, i'd like to see you try." Shadow then pounced and Scourge, claws unsheathed. She would've pinned him down, if it weren't for the ginger she-cat who tackled Shadow. Shadow let out a snarl of frustaration. "Get out of my way, Rose." She spat out 'Rose' like she was spitting out feathers from a thrush. "Make me." Rose taunted. Shadow lunged at her, raking her claws across her muzzle then pouncing over her, just dodging the tackle from Scourge. The battle has begun, and Batpaw watched helplessly. She knew what was going to be the outcome of this battle, but there was nothing she can do about it.
