Yesterday was a day filled with school, work, and homework. Which means I had a 24 hour break from Birth by Sleep! It was probably a healthy thing but... yeah. We should be done with the whole thing by Tuesday. Which means I can get back to regular posts here on Waffle's Rant and stop spamming you all with Birth by Sleep commentary. Won't that be nice?
- So we’re back in good ‘ol Olympus Coliseum
- Oh there’s a Phil! Who’s… running away?
- Ven’s all like “What cha’ dooooing?” and Phil’s like “I TOLD YOU I CAN’T TRAIN… Who in “Halicarnassus” are you?” BA-DUM-CHIC! I’m loving all these Greek puns in this game. Why weren’t they in all the others? Or am I just not remembering them?
- So… Phil wasn’t hiding from Hercules? He’s hiding from somebody else? Who else wants Phil to train them…?
- OH HI THERE ZACK!
- Zack’s all like “YOU TOTALLY TRAIN HEROES!” and Herc’s like “TRUE HEROES!” and Ven’s like “OH GAWD THAT’S SO COOL!” Phil has problems getting ladies to pay attention to him but 15 year-oldish boys love him. Pfffft. Oh the pederasty jokes I could make right now!
- Zack’s like “PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!” And Phil’s like “Two words for you! Student-teacher-ratio!” Meanwhile Ven counts the words out on his fingers and looks adorable doing it.
- Again Phil’s like “I ARE TOO BUSY, LEAVE ME ALONE!” And Zack says “I’M LOW MAINTENANCE, I SWEAR!”
- Olympus Coliseum the World of Nicknames, Caplocks and Awesome!
- Oh hi Unversed!
- Looks like we get to fight with Zack (who wants to show off to Phil) and Herc (who’s like “I CAN HELP!”).
- This fight was actually kinda fun. Zack likes to take off on his own and kill-steal while Herc stays pretty close to Ven and gets beat up a bit.
- After the fight Phil’s like “Okay so… I’ll train whichever one of you does better in the games.” And Zack runs off to sign up. Ven’s about to take after him but Phil’s like “Urr, that was the last spot.” OH GOD DOES THIS MEAN WE HAVE TO DO PHIL’S TRAINING?!
- Anyhoo Herc’s feelings are hurt. But Phil’s like “Dude I’ve trained you a bit, prove to me that you’ve got the stuff to keep on going.” So he takes off and Herc’s like “D:” and Ven’s like “DUDE I SHALL HELP YOU TRAIN!”
- So… It’ll be Hercules’ Training? As long as there are no barrels I’ll live.
- Oh god it is totally a “BREAK THINGS AND HAVE FUN!” which is just horrible.
- Okay so it wasn’t actually horrible. Just a bit of a waste of time.
- Phil watches and… doesn’t approve?
- Again we’ve gotta kill some pots and once that’s over Ven asks Herc if he wants to become a true hero. And Herc’s like yeap, and here’s my backstory! And Herc’s like “Why are you here?” And Ven’s like “I just want friends who I don’t cry about every night.” And Herc’s like… “Urrr, we’re friends, aren’t we?”
- OH HI ZACK!
- Phil gives out the rules for the Games and do we get to watch? Also: Somebody’s fighting in the other bracket and is a “heavy-hitting contender.” Ummm… Terra?
- We get little flashes of Zack and Herc winning and now it’s time for Zack and Herc to fight. And they’re like “LET’S JUST FIGHT AND NOT FEEL BAD ABOUT IT!”
- So off they go and I personally think it’s a little unfair seeing as how Zack fights with a sword and all Herc’s got are his fists…
- Then Ven spaces out and replaces Zack and Herc with Terra and Aqua.
- Uh oh, Unversed are invading the town. Ven decides he’s gonna go off on his own because the match “is too important.”
- Oh no it’s an invasion of jellyfish!Unversed that go down in a hit… But Herc’s here. Cause he won’t let his friend fight alone (BECAUSE HE’S A HERO… or will be someday).
- So after taking down a fistful of Unversed we learn Air Slide! WHOO HOO!
- Ven apologizes for making Herc lose and then an Unversed comes for Herc’s head and Zack saves him. And Zacks like “I wanna be a hero too, dur. Herc’s just… faster than me.”
- So neither of ‘em win?
- Then Phil’s like “Urr I never said I’d train the winner. And seeing as how Herc left first…”
- So Herc gets to be trained! Poor Zack… who… gets over it superfast. Pfft. I love this kid.
- Oh and now Zack takes off his helmet and is like “I are Zack.” AND DOES SQUATS!
- And Ven’s like “Phil be honest, you were always going to train Herc.” And Phil’s like “Ur dur. He was just a bit stuck. This un-stuck him. I are smart.”
- Phil thanks Ven’s and like “It was nothing, he’s my friends. “Somebody to share a laugh with.”” REALLY VEN? ARE WE GOING DOWN THIS ROAD TOGETHER? Because this is almost as annoying as the whole “TERRA IS NOT BAD, EVER” spiel.
- Oh okay. He’s then says “Like Terra and Aqua… We’ll patch things up.” Good boy Ven, you almost went on my shit list… AGAIN.
- So Ven’s about to leave and Herc’s like “D: Come back to visit?” And Ven’s like “WHEN YOU’RE A HERO, OF COURSE!” And Zack’s like “When… WE’RE BOTH HEROS!” So Ven’s like “Urr… so never then?”
- Zack noogies Ven… ZACKxVen? No… that wouldn’t work out well. Seeing as how ZackxAqua is A WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL THING!
- Yay a teenaged boy trio of creepy laughs! Oh god… can you imagine Ven giving Zack tips on how to date Aqua. “She might look mean but she’s actually really nice and shy. She likes books and if you get her ice cream she’ll be really happy.”
- D-link with Zack, new keyblade, yada yada. Why no D-link with Herc?
- Umm we’re finished! One more world left to do in this set!
