So this is it folks, the end of Aqua's storyline. So here is why I like Aqua so much: she's the best type of friend you can have. She has the best sense of "right" and "wrong" we've ever seen in these games. She is supportive, nonjudgmental and always ready to listen. She trusts her friends even when it seems like she should. But best of all she is protective of her friends, she's willing to risk her life for them, willing to dedicate all of her time and effort for her friends. Aqua is a good friend even when it doesn't seem like her friends deserve her.

• So we land in the Keyblade Graveyard which is where the secret endings take place.
• Aqua claims that “the three of us will always be one.”
• So she starts walking, ready to meet her fate.
• The Graveyard is eerily unfilled with bad guys...
  Okay I lied. There are a bunch of tornadoes whipping around and if you get sucked up into one you come face to face with a bunch of Unversed.

• If you beat the Unversed you get thrown out of the tornado and it disappears.
• The only problem being you can’t outrun the tornadoes so you’re forced to fight whatever Unversed is inside of it.
• The tornadoes are such a pain in the ass I ended up being sucked up by all of them except for ONE! Augh. On the bright side I leveled up two more levels.
• Oh jeez, a save point. Guess we all know what that means.
• Into the actual graveyard itself!
• And there he is, the man of the hour.
• Aqua has her SERIOUS face on. Terra looks… blank.
• Aqua also doesn’t waste any time, right away she tells Terra that Master Erauqs has been killed. Terra actually looks surprised… then ashamed. So he already knows.
• D: He did do it! He admits it was stupid but… he doesn’t deny it.
• Apparently their Master tried to hurt Ven and Terra fought him to protect Ven. It seems like Aqua has missed a lot of info…
• Wait it was a trick? All of that just to awake Terra’s darkness?
• Terra admits that he did need to be watched and that he went astray but not any longer.
• Aqua is… so smart. She says that the darkness is nothing but hate and rage. And Xehanort is knowingly fueling Terra’s darkness. She doesn’t want revenge, I think she wants this all to just be over. She doesn’t want to honor her Master that way.
• AND HERE’S VEN!
• Wha? Master Xehanort wants Ventus and Vanitas to fight so he can make some special blade. Apparently Master Erauqs really didn’t want that to happen and that’s why he tried to “destroy” Ven.
• Ven doesn’t know what this special blade is but it scares him.
• Terra says that they (he and Aqua) won’t let that happen but Ven knows it might come down to a fight between him and Vanitas. And if it does he wants them to… and here we have to assume that he wants them to kill him. Assuming because Terra doesn’t let him finish.
• Terra reminds Ven that the three of them can never be torn apart. (Urr, guys have you been playing the same game I have?)
• Terra also proclaims that he’ll “always find a way.” And he puts a hand on Ven’s shoulder and Aqua puts a hand on his cheek.
• OH GOD GUUUUYS
• Ven pushes them off and asks them again, as friends, to put an end to him. Which shocks both of them.
• OH GOD HE’S HERE!
• AND SO IS VANITAS!
• Oh crap and Master Xehanort thinks now is a good time for some history. These keys use to be full of power, yada yada, united with the hearts of their masters, blah blah, and here keyblade of light and keyblades of darkness fought, yada yada, and a War Raged! Bunch of ‘em died looking for one, ultimate key, blah blah, and soon it will be his, yada yada. Again with the ‘key’-blade (the ‘key’ being a special symbol that looks like a fancy X) but… he’s pointing at Ven.
• Cause ya know… Ven’s got a big ‘ol special keyblade stuck inside of him.
• The trio is like “whaaaa?”
• TRANSFORM!
• And we get a reanimated scene of the special ending and Master Xehanort does his evil twinkle fingers.
• OH GOD WE’RE FIGHTING!
• WHY?!
• Okay maybe not fighting…
• The plus-side of this reanimation being that there’s voices now!
• Augh the Frozen!Ven scene is still just as heart breaking… when his Sora!Blues dart back and forth like that :C
• AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! KIIIINGODM HEEEEEEEEEEARTS!
• Mickey’s here, folks!
• And… now we’re fighting?
• Nope?
• Whut the… Braig? What is he doing here? He tells Aqua to leave “the little popsicle” with him so Aqua can go fight with Terra.
• Braig… knows way too much. He knows what Terra did to Master Erauqs. Aqua asks who he is and Braig gets the best CRAZY face of the game thus far.
• Oh god why does Braig have a monologue? He asks Aqua if she thinks she’s (and somebody else, dunno if he’s talking about Ven or Terra) special. “As if” she’s… ONLY HERE SO SHE CAN BE KILLED? BY BRAIG? SO TERRA WILL SUCCUMB TO THE DARKNESS?!?
• Ven must’ve warmed up a bit because he can move his head just enough to yell “Shut up!” at Braig which… WOAH! Back in Kingdom Hearts 2 Sora yells “Shut up!” at Xigbar which he says is the exact same expression he used to get. We all assumed he was Roxas but… it was really about Ven!
• Aqua tells him to keep on with the mind games, because they won’t work. She puts Ven down who… moans a bunch and… NOW WE GET TO FIGHT?!
• Again for this battle I listened to ‘Bulletproof’. :D Which makes more sense in this context.
• Okay so… wow. It’s a lot like the Xigbar fight in KH2 only you have a smaller space to deal with. Really your best option (or so I found) was to find holes in his attacks to either heal or attack. Other than that either block the bullets or cartwheel around. Pretty much if you’re moving he can’t hurt you unless you either run right in front of him or you run into one of the dark bullets. Aqua’s health bar goes up so… I suppose this isn’t the last battle. SIGH.
• Braig says he keeps forgetting “not to mess with keyblade wielders” DAMN SKIPPY! But… that just means he made the right choice? Huh? OH CRAP! Braig was just there to buy time?! Well he sure as hell bought it! That was like a ten minute long battle!
• Ven still can’t move but he spots… VANITAS! Who… kills Aqua?
• OH GOD WHY!
• Aqua floats and hears Ven’s request again to “put an end to” him.
• SHE’S ALIVE!
• And Mickey’s the one who found her but… Ven’s gone.
• WAIT! He’s okay!
• HOLY SHIT BALLS! He’s got the BIGGEST EFFING KEY…BLADE… OH no… That’s not a keyblade…
• Mickey seems to have caught on and
• HOLY SHIT!
• Ven lifts his head up and smirks BUT HE HAS YELLOW EYES!
• I don’t even know what to call Ven now… is he being possessed by Vanitas? Whoever he is he tries to stab Aqua with his big butt blade but Mickey dives in front of her and pushes the blade out of the way with his keyblade.
• AH! Not!Ventus’ armor melts away and it’s Vanitas’ armor/skin suit! And Vanitas’ voice seems to be mixed with Ven’s… and
• OH GOD!
• “His heart has become a part of mine now.” So… that beginning scene in Ven’s heart… means that this whole time Vanitas has been the patch?
• Apparently the ‘X’-Blade (Again it is a fancy X that they pronounce as “key”) will open up a door that lead to all the worlds. That way every keyblade warrior currently alive can come to the Graveyard and fight for the light within Kingdom Hearts… but… why would anybody want that to happen? But apparently I was wrong, the Keyblade War hasn’t happened yet? The plan is to make it being like the legends say.
• Aqua doesn’t give two FUCKS, she just want Ven to have his heart back.
• OH GOD MUST WE FIGHT HIM?!
• To my own surprise this fight is easier than the fight against Braig. This is probably because this is the third time we’ve fought Vanitas and we’ve got Mickey to help us. The best advice I can give for this fight is: cartwheel, heal when you can, strike when he’s panting and do the special attack with Mickey whenever possible.
• The post-fight cutscene show Vanitas still up and smirking but Mickey and Aqua look like they’re about to change that.
• Or not… Vanitas blasts them off the circle rock ledge the fight took place on and Aqua gets slammed into a cliff. She’s hurt.
• Augh, Vanitas saunters on over and does a whole “giving up already” bit. The faces Vanitas makes should not be on Ven/Roxas/Sora’s face. Again, Aqua pulls out her Wayfinder and asks Terra and Ven to lend her strength.
• IT GLOWS!
• And… she gets an awesome shiny-keyblade!
• Screw Terra, Aqua is the woman of the hour!
• I should also note that the Vanitas/Ventus voice sometimes sounds like… Riku?
• The two blades clash and a giant ripple erupts from them, a dark circle on top of a white circle.
• Vanitas seems confidant until Aqua’s new shiny keyblade glows extra bright and the ‘x’-blade starts to crack. Vanitas gets launched backwards by Aqua’s attack and the ‘x’-blade goes flying out of his hands.
• The ‘x’-blade starts to shoot out lights which land on the ground and create keyhole shillouttes. Mickey picks himself up and says “it’s gone all haywire!”
• The light blasts past Aqua and hits Vanitas who… starts to glow black and turns back into VEN!
• Aqua tries to skirt around the light shooting out from the ‘x’-blade to get to Ven but finally the ‘x’-blade breaks and shoots out EVEN BRIGHTER LIGHT! The light scoots Ven and Aqua away.
• Mickey meanwhile tries to inch over towards the ‘x’-blade.
• Ven’s up in the air and Aqua tries to catch him. She reaches out for his hand but MISSES BY MILIMETERS! Finally she catches him and the ‘x’-blade mushroom clouds.
• …And we get a report?
• Aqua wakes up… in her normal clothes. She’s in Yen Sid’s office. Apparently Mickey found her and Ven drifting in the Lanes Between. Ven is still out of it and apparently there was no sign of Terra.
• Aqua tries to wake Ven up but gasps when she touches him. She even tries shaking him but Yen Sid says his heart is sleeping. And… Yen Sid doesn’t know if he’ll wake up because it’s almost like his heart has left.
• DAMN YOU VANITAS AND YOU’RE AWESOME BADASS EVIL WAYS!
• But if it returns he could wake up but if it doesn’t then he’ll sleep like this forever.
• Aqua promises to keep Ven safe, for the rest of her life.
• But Killjoy Yen Sid says that isn’t what Ven needs. Ven needs Aqua to believe? Because his heart hangs in the balance? The balance of what? Good and evil? Light and darkness? Ventusness and Vanitasness? Nope it’s light and darkness.
• Apparently… he’s looking for a friend so show him the way home? All he needs is love?
• Mickey says he believes in Ven too so there’ll be two lights guiding him home but Aqua says no there are three lights. Terra will help guide Ven home as well. She pulls out her Wayfinder and clutches it close.
• There’s sparkles and…
• CREDITS?!
• WHAT THE FUCK?!
• Also: TERRA ISN’T CHRISTIAN BALE?! But some guy named Jason Dohring? Whoops. Also: I SO CALLED THAT VANITAS WAS HALEY JOEL! Also Sora, Kairi and Riku had new VAs for their child versions (and the Riku one was super cute).
• So: Phillip kisses Aurora, Cinderalla gets her shoe, Snow White gets carried away, Kairi walks with her Grandma, …people I didn’t care about in Disney Town clap, Zack does some squats, Gantu protects the GC, the Lost Boys march, Mickey trains with Yen Sid, Sora strikes his classic hands-behind-the-head lean, Master Eraqus crosses his arms, and finally Terra Aqua and Ven STRIKE A POSE!
• After 1,211 enemies defeated, almost 21 hours and over 13,000 words I’ve completed Aqua’s story.
