So I feel a bit as if I'm spamming ya'll. But I don't feel so bad as to stop doing so. So this world really does prove that Aqua was the right character to start off with. Aqua is SO out of the loop. Ven is chasing Terra and Terra is (we assume) doing his job of killing Unversed and finding Master Xehanort. Aqua is chasing Ven and Terra and Master Xehanort. There's a lot of stuff WE DON'T KNOW because PEOPLE WON'T TELL US ANYTHING and we don't really see the boys face to face to ask them the pressing questions. There's a lot of mysteries and Aqua probably won't unravel too many of them but it does make for interesting story telling. Also: It seems like Aqua is mainly cleaning up after the boys once they muck up Worlds. Every world Aqua goes to is a bit messed up but with her help they go back to their Disney ending.
- Landed in Enchanted Domain and we’re standing on a cliff outside of Maleficent’s Castle. Also: How cool is it that I knew how to spell Maleficent without having to look it up AND that Microsoft Word knows that name. Wait… Maleficent is a word. Feel free to head desk for me.
- A big red light comes WOOSHING out of the castle so it’s a fairy?
- Aqua gets her exploring boots on. Seriously girl I know we need to find your friends and kill Unversed but you are way too ready to jump into these types of situations.
- Okay so I know it’s early in the game but I WANT TO GLIDE! If this game doesn’t have gliding I’m going to be so ticked off. I DON’T WANT TO WALK ALL THE WAY UP THIS PATH!
- Seriously, it’s a giant path with no presents and no Unversed and NO FUN.
- Inside the castle you fight Mal’s minions who burst into green flames when they die. Nice touch.
- Run through the minions… yada yada
- VEN!
- Seriously Jesse McCartney is my favorite VA in this game… Well Hailey Joel is pretty good (but I’m still not certain if he’s in this game…) but Jesse just KEEPS GETTING BETTER! He does the best “innocent” voice ever. Pfft, it’s both hilarious and endearing.
- So Terra did… something. I dunno what it is but Maleficent is using it to poke at Ven. Aqua rushes in and says Terra would never do that (DO WHAT?! WHAT DID HE DO! HE SO WOULD! Guys… I so don’t trust Terra.)
- Maleficent makes a good point though: no matter how close friends are you can’t really know the secrets that are in each other’s heart.
- …Why are you ignoring the Green Lady Aqua? NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO TAKE VEN HOME! NOW IS THE TIME TO BEAT HER BUTT! …Even though she hasn’t done anything… that we know of.
- Ven won’t go and nothing Aqua says can convince him otherwise. Ven’s really dead set on finding Terra. Apparently he has to find him before it’s too late. TOO LATE FOR WHAT?!
- Ven bolts, as is the Ventus way.
- Aqua starts to go after him but Mal calls her back with OMINOUS TALKING.
Mal knows what a keyblade is and is interested in what it can do (unlocking stuff). So she asks Aqua to help her just like how Terra helped her. - DON’T TRUST TERRA! HE IS EVIL! …HE REALLY IS THE RIKU OF THE GROUP! OH GAWD!
- Never! Good job Aqua, this is why I loooove you!
- Okay… so Xehanort was here? Master Xehanort, I assume. I don’t think the other Xehanort world hops. AND HE CALLED AQUA STUBBORN! No, Xehanort/Maleficent. It’s called RIGHT and WRONG.
- Mal doesn’t like being turned down so we’re booted to the dungeon where we meet PHILIP! Who is the best Disney Prince ever because HE GETS SHIT DONE.
- Philip explains why he’s in the dungeon and Aqua is such a softie for romance. I hope she doesn’t Like Like Terra because he is no Philip.
- The fairies pop in and Aqua isn’t even phased by this insanity anymore.
- Yay! We’re going with Philip because Aqua has A LOT of questions to ask Mal.
- So we break out and as I suspected Philip doesn’t join our party. I really don’t think there’s any party system in the game. So… that stinks. If anybody fights on our side it will probably be like the Sora/Axel fight where he does some damage (not much) but he can’t die… until the CUT SCENE! Not… that Philip dies but you know what I mean.
- The dungeon itself is the first area in the game where places really are inaccessible to you. Before there were a few doors we couldn’t get through but there’s ledges in here you literally can’t jump up to. Either it’s because we don’t have double jump or because we’re not whoever we’re supposed to be. If… that makes sense.
- So Mal’s crow spots us and summons up some “goons” and I was wrong. Philip is here to help us fight and he does have a health bar. Which… stinks because he faints pretty quickly. However after the fight with the goons is over (think the fights in KH2 where the info bar popped up) he’s back to… living in our pocket?
- So the castle is pretty empty except for the last room where you team up with Philip to escape. There’s a cool combo jump thing the two of them do together which would make me ship AquaxPhilip if not for the fact that I know he’s going to go mack out with Aurora.
- And we learn High Jump…
- Down the big path and we FINALLY run into some Unversed.
- After we get down the path we’re in the forest? Again Unversed are here for the killing and after that forest/valley map THERE’S MORE FOREST/VALLEY. It’s okay though because it’s a save point. Which probably means we’ve got a big fight ahead of us.
- Mal sees us going towards the castle and gets pissed and summons the thorns.
- Which… doesn’t stop them. Like… they run right through them in the cut scene.
- Mal then pops up in front of Aqua and Philip and Aqua gets her chance to question Mal. She wants to know what Master Xehanort told her. Mal, of course, doesn’t answer and just taunts her about Terra and how obedient he is.
- Aqua still doesn’t believe that Terra would help Maleficent. Even when Maleficent tells her that Terra has embraced his Darkness she yells “Stop lying!”
- So Mal decides to show her the “POWERS OF HELL!” Really? The powers of hell?
- And by powers of hell she obviously means DRAGON POWER!
- So while Maleficent has the most health of any boss we’ve face yet she is the easiest to kill. Phillip isn’t really much help but this is… the third time I’ve fought Maleficent in dragon form and her tricks are pretty much the same. She stomps around and causes a shock wave and really that’s it. She also gets up and flies around though Philip can launch you into the sky so you can land on her back on beat on her there.
- After that pitiful fight there’s a cut scene where Maleficent separates Aqua and Philip via green flames. However it is Philip who is alone fighting Maleficent (like in the movie).
- With Maleficent defeated Philip rushes off into the castle… Maleficent however is still alive (dur) and Aqua takes this time to taunt her about the power of True Love. Mal says she won’t be defeated as something as insignificant as love and Aqua is all like “dude you like the darkness way to much that you don’t even realize how awesome love is”. Then she and Dumbledore went off to high five or something.
- Up in the castle Philip wakes Aurora up. D’waah.
- Back down on the castle bridge Aqua is STILL dissing Mal. And wisely says “Try all you want, but you’ll never defeat a heart filled with light.”
- Maleficent, like the fairy godmother before her, remind Aqua that darkness and light exist together and that as long as there is light there will be darkness.
- Already Mal has plans to use the power of darkness, and those under its control (heartless).
- With the best evil laugh EVER she poofs off in her green flames and Aqua is left alone on the bridge.
- Looking up at the sky she says: “Terra… You better stay strong for me.” AUGH! One tear, just for you dear.
- So we get a new keyblade and our first… Xehanort Report!
- A cut scene pops up (SO WE’RE NOT DONE?!) and I have no idea what world it could be. Maybe Radiant Garden?
- Aha! It is! Master Xehanort is talking to somebody…
- Well… I know who it is even though the game doesn’t show his face. So I will tell ya’ll: IT IS A BRAIG! Who you might know as Xigbar!
- Another cut scene shows Aqua flying on her… water ski? I seriously have no idea what to call it.
- Up ahead she spots something red… Terra?
- It is! STALK HIM!
- Our creepy behavior opens up a new world and it’s…
- Oh god I can’t stop here, there should be a new one up soon!
