“This way!” I called out, running ahead of the small group and making a quick left at the next group of trees. They all responded instantly, quickly turning to follow me.
“Where are you going?” the lynx called out.
I put a finger to my lips as I began to slow down, urging them to keep quiet. I looked around, sniffing quickly until I found the space I was looking for. “Here,” I nodded, moving around a few branches and leaves next to one of the bigger trees. “We have to go through here,” I pointed to the hole that had appeared.
A few of them looked at the hole skeptically. “Are you sure we’ll all fit?” Yume spoke up, landing next to me.
I nodded, “It’s bigger inside, it’s just the hole that’s sort of small.” My papa had shown me the hole when I was little, it led to the foxes den just outside of the city. It was how they had gathered food when they weren’t able to find enough. By stealing from the humans. I slipped through the hole easily and motioned for the others to follow.
