exactly. but not all people exposed to violent games become violent themselves. i played an extremely violent game growing up and im as cool as they come.
You have to understand that the people in charge are always trying to find some kind of reason to ban games and comics because they believe that once we get our hands on them, it'll be a bloodbath. It doesn't help that the few piss-ant morons that do end up going on a bloodbath just happen to be gamers as well. But seriously, 1 has nothing to do with the other. What they need to understand is that parents need to stand up and take responsibility for their kids actions. If the kid was raised right, they could watch, read, play the most violent of stuff and not even bat an eye. But if the TV/games are the babysitters, then you get what you asked for. It's easier for people to cast blame instead of admitting it was their own fault.
It's true that it's not the game that makes a person violent. The insanity click is always there in their heads, the game just pokes it and a chain reaction starts.
I've played plenty violent games as well and I don't feel the need to murder. But hardcore gamers aren't violent after the game, but during it. If for example while fighting a boss battle the power goes out they get so angry to the point where they might actually hurt a person if he/she says 'Chill, it's just a game.'
The game isn't the issue, it never is, it's the human mind that's so screwed up, it places a stupid game over life itself.

Thank you for agreeing. I figured out that you feel so much better after beating the infuriating boss (Learned from Sephiroth in the original KH).
