Jewel Maidens - Chapter 22 - Reflections of Maidens Part 2

At a gym in central Paris, Naoko was furiously pummeling a punching bag.
Naoko: Who does that bastard think he is? Thinks he's too good for me? Thinks Suzuka is better? I'll show him what real women can do!
Rei: No, I just think that Dave is an oblivious simp.
Naoko: You know our motto, we turn simps into giga chads, I won't lose to those other girls!
Rei: You'd probably do better with one of the others.
Naoko: No, it's either Dreamer or nothing!
Naoko furiously destroys the bag.

At a smokey bar at night, Coleen reflects on everything.
Sabine: Things are looking up Coleen, we need you.
Coleen: Dave is a gold mine of cars, we need him, if I can lure him away from Sonic Youth, we race gods will never need to work again.
Sabine: Maybe dial back the booze a bit?
Coleen: I'm not changing for him, if he can't accept the package then he shouldn't make the order.
Sabine: Not sure that analogy works but okay, just don't forget that Giulia is keen on having you back and doesn't like waiting.
Coleen: She'll have to wait.

Inside Larasu's lab, Larasu continues her projects.
Tabitha: Aren't you done with Dave, I think you've explored everything that needs to be done.
Larasu: Not yet, I get the feeling that I can persuade that silent worker personality out, if I'm right then Dave is an unstoppable genius. We can rule the world together!
Tabitha: I think Willow said that the only time it came out was when he had no other choice but to let it takeover.
Larasu: The Montfort beast springs to mind, the legend says that 13 witches changed the cruel Duke into a beast when he broke all their hearts.
Tabitha: I wouldn't play that game Larasu, we Jewel Maidens could probably do a lot worse now compared to a handful of Salem witches.
Larasu: Good point.

At a billiard hall down town, Sujin plays a game with her besty.
Sujin: First time I can afford decent clothes for this over blown body.
Malice: Did the Helkin's give you grief for harming Zoe?
Sujin: Only her mother, the rest praised me for silencing her.
Malice: Electra paid for your wardrobe and even approved your sister to takeover the central territory, were going to become hustlers now.
Sujin: Sounds good, although I'm getting bored of Dave, he's so easy to get money out of, its stopped being a challenge.
Malice: I wouldn't completely get rid of him, he's good to race against.
Sujin: Fair point, now about this Gala. I hope you bring your best black lace gown because I'm taking you to the ball.
Malice: I can't wait to see how you look in your gown.
With a loving embrace, the two were ready to conquer the Gala.

Jewel Maidens - Chapter 21 - Reflections of Maidens Part 1

After a round in Scotland that felt like a second job, the newly refreshed Sonic Youth arrived for a long deserved down time, all our maidens reflected on their journey so far.

Mitsue joined by her best friend Saffron at a French Boutique
Mitsue: Barely been in that team a week and already my style is being ruined, so unrefined.
Saffron: Some cute boys there, should we show them our authentic style?
Mitsue: I think some of them think that haute couture is some kind of French cuisine.
Saffron: They're not completely wrong, we look delicious in haute couture.
Mitsue: All the men are taken in cousin Nasu's team, suppose I can stay.
Saffron: That's the spirit, we'll get our men.

Hanako joined by colleague Makoto at a French Cafe
Hanako: I've never seen you so smitten Makoto.
Makoto: Gaz is so sweet, he's asked me to the Gala, I can't wait.
Hanako: You know, you have to confess your ability at some point.
Makoto: I know, because of it, I couldn't stay in the armed forces, even if it causes heartbreak, I want to enjoy being loved.
Hanako: I'm not the type to understand this lovey dovey stuff, I'm happy for you.

At a mansion outside Versailles, the Marchetta family were eagerly awaiting daughter Antonella's jewel awakening, Antonella was a sweet girl, she was the hope of the Sonic Youth team and the one who might reclaim Ferrari from Maria Rossi, the new adult started to glow as she felt herself grow, filling out her oversized lace ballgown, maturing into a beautiful young lady, her cute face grew into a striking devious adult glow to match her tomboy pixie cut hair, her eyes changed from brown to purple to reflect her connection to the Amethyst jewel inside her.
"Welcome my Antonella, welcome to the family, tell us how do you feel?" Asked her father.
Antonella walked over to her birthday present, a very expensive Ferrari, she removed a silk glove and stroked the metallic red car igniting her hand on fire.
"Bring me the head of Maria Rossi" she said with a velvet like tone blowing the flames like a kiss.

Jewel Maidens - Chapter 20 - Rage vs Sweet

The Neon project tests were going well, everyone got the performances they want but still seething with anger Suzuka wanted to release it, then Dave while chatting to Larasu quoted what he said to Suzuka online.
"DREAMER!" Suzuka shouted with blind rage eyes and a fist ignited by a fiery aura. Dave started running and tried to escape through a number of doors but Suzuka destroyed each door effortlessly. The chase ended up outside in the stormy Scottish weather as the lightning lit up Suzuka's fiery rage aura, Suzuka began dive bombing leaving craters in the ground and Dave ran for his life until he was cornered by a stone wall.
"You won't escape now die!" Suzuka threw her fist forward but it stopped inches from Dave's face.
Inside her head there was a conflict between Suzuka's two sides.

Rage Suzuka: WHY DID YOU STOP ME!?
Sweet Suzuka: I don't know, normally when you lose control I just let you burn it off but something about Dave is powering me up.
Rage Suzuka: HE NEEDS TO DIE!
Sweet Suzuka: That's enough! Until we know what's going on, you'll stay asleep.

The normally weaker Sweet side dispelled the Rage side.
Suzuka's eyes switched back to her normal beautiful silver eyes as she breathed heavily from all the adrenaline, she pulled her fist away and ran away.
Dave breathed a sigh of relief only to find the stonewall behind him with a massive hole in it.
Arriving back from Suzuka's attack, Larasu had a smug grin on her face.
"Now do you believe your abilities?" Larasu laughed.
Dave just nodded
"I take maple syrup in my coffee and fresh pecans with my shortcake, get ordering bitch" Larasu using her mind to carry her tools.

At the coffee shop after Gaz had finished his date, he served Dave.
"You know, you need to learn some restraint, sure all these women are gorgeous but alot of them are getting you into trouble, and you look awful right now"
Gaz served Dave a coffee.
"You seem to be doing well, Makoto looks incredible with that Navy uniform, you don't seem to have trouble" Dave took the coffee.
"I don't simp for every pretty face going, at some point you'll have to settle for one girl, this isn't an anime where you can get everyone" Gaz cleaning the mugs.
Dave went through his head eight different women, this strangely included Suzuka, either Dave was a masochist or it was her beautiful silver eyes, so far Pamela was the only one who didn't cause him pain or ended in extreme awkwardness as with what happened with Yuffie and Willow.
With a formal event planned at the Paris race, Dave had a decision to make.

Jewel Maidens - Chapter 19 - Project Neon

With the tour proceeding to Scotland for the next event and a better showing from the ladies team, it was time for a team refresh; Gangamma and Zoe left the team, Gangamma failed to secure a Lamborghini deal and returned to her original team, Zoe decided to go solo after it became obvious she wasn't gaining anything useful from it.
In steps Gaz for a collaboration which shares three new drivers, Mitsue, Suzuka and extra reserve Antonella, the deal also comes with new engineers as Larasu returns along with Makoto and Hanako.
Mitsue looks less like a racing driver and more like an over dressed fashion doll, her Mazda Rx-7 disagrees, she also shares the Solar Power ability with Coleen but unlike Coleen, Mitsue's skin rapidly tans in the sun.
Antonella is a karting prodigy, her gem hasn't awakened yet but everyone is eagerly awaiting it, she's a really cute plucky girl.
Hanako's and Makoto's abilities are classified, Hanako previously worked as an AI voice model before AI itself copied her voice completely and she needed a new role; Makoto is an ex-navy, air force and army officer serving as a radio operator in all three and obtaining the rank of Captain before leaving with a full skill set.
Suzuka is something else. She's a school teacher and video game master but her reputation as Speed of Light Suzuka is that she's a fiery inferno of rage, yet her students have all said she's the sweetest kindest teacher in the world, her role in the racing tournament was losing a bet to Gaz online, not too much of an issue, she's been sponsored by racing teams before but losing bets has become a habit of hers. She has the ability known as "Eye of the Beholder" she can read minds and adapt her personality to whoever she's in contact with but her stark contrast between gaming and teaching young children has split her personality in two, she loves children too much to ever want to be angry with them while gaming is more rage baiting than ever, the only minds she can't read are those with natural mental defenses such as Gaz and Dave, which Suzuka found out the hard way when she tried to defeat Gaz.
Another development was that Project Neon was nearing completion and that Sonic Youth was picked to test it, three Nissan 370Z cars were built using experimental fuel using the same gems as those found in the jewel maidens, Gaz, Dave, Willow and Suzuka were about to test it.
"Suzuka, Suzuka, I've heard that name before" Dave pondered
"Focus on the test Dave, I wouldn't make her angry" Gaz warned.
Dave looked to Suzuka who was suiting up, she had a great figure and her eyes were like diamonds but she equally looked terrifying.
Once everyone suited up it was testing time.

Tabitha: Everything okay Willow?
Willow: I'm just a little torn, wish I did a better job of helping Dave but there's so much competition.
Tabitha: I know you enjoyed the BMX session, but times have changed, you've grown up and Dave..... yeah I get what you mean by more SpongeBob than Aquaman.
Willow: Anyway, set the mapping to 30%, let's keep a steady balance.
Tabitha: Copy that.

Larasu: Can you make sense of this Mr Karting?
Dave: Course I can, I've driven over hundred cars
Larasu: There will be a pop quiz later, I want all the metrics and measurements, fuel flow, map modes, traction values and power ratio.
Dave: I just drive.
Larasu: Suuuuurrrrreeee you do

Makoto: Good afternoon, I will be your engineer today, I am Makoto Mukai.
Gaz: Good afternoon, that's a sweet voice you've got.
Makoto: How kind of you to say, how's the power output?
Gaz: Stable, make some small changes to gear ratio so I'm not exploding the gearbox, slowly add more torque and we'll see what happens.
Makoto Copy that, anything else?
Gaz: A coffee?
Makoto *blushes* I'll meet you after work.

Hanako: Suzuka I need calm.
Suzuka: I'm trying but that bastard on Arc Raiders really pissed me off.
Hanako: This fuel is volatile and I'd rather your limbs were still attached.
Suzuka: Set output to 70%, we'll do a race setup run then try a qualifying run.
Hanako: Copy that, let's just get through this and we'll worry about your game rage later.

Dave: I remember now, it was that player I fought last night, Speed of Light Suzuka.
Larasu: I'll phone an ambulance.
Dave: For the sick burn I gave her?
Larasu: I'll phone an undertaker as well.

Jewel Maidens - Chapter 18 - Reluctant Actress

Pamela had a surprise going into Norway as she managed to finish ahead of several prominent drivers, it gave the ladies team a boost for round 3 in Scotland later on despite Zoe still being injured.
During some down time, Pamela reflected on how she ended up here in the first place.

In Bremen Germany, a young pink haired Pamela originally wanted to be an Alpine skier but instead took up snowboarding with three friends; upper class connections got her a spot in the Olympics where she took bronze in Snowboard Cross, she would later be hired for stunt work which got her a comfortable career for a while until a fateful day in Aspen.
Pamela's jewel awakened giving her emerald eyes and an ability known as technician meaning she can learn anything from seeing it once, it doesn't make her an instant expert, but the actress she was doing stunt work for was notorious for being difficult to work with meaning that in two weeks of reshooting, Pamela had learned the entirety of being an actress meaning she ended up with the role instead; the story gained traction online and a new movie star was born, Pamela was already a Hollywood fan idolizing starlets like Marilyn Monroe, so it's not that she didn't enjoy acting, it's that she didn't know what to do, she would first test to see how far she could take her abilities by entering a sports car race at the Nordschleife where she placed 3rd in her first race, Bayside came calling and she moved with her sister, another jewel maiden, to the hidden country; the racing scene quickly picked her up and she decided to join Sonic Youth as it was the least political of the nine major factions.

Present day she finally got a break from her nagging manager and figured she ask Dave Dreamer for a ride around Norway, see if she can learn anything from him driving.
She politely asked and got an instant yes from him, maybe it was because he never got a chance to speak to her but Dave was loving the attention from all the female drivers.
Pamela kept her eyes on Dave's driving for the whole trip, her pleasant smile and beautiful Emerald eyes were spellbinding, but something was off.
Pamela couldn't pick up anything, she had a similar issue with Gaz as well.
"Is his ability blocking mine?" She thought
She remembered that certain people have a natural firewall, Larasu told her that it didn't come from a gem ability but from a unique neuro pattern that blocks anything from mind control to mind hacking, Gaz has this condition, looks like Dave has as well.
At the end of the trip, she politely waved and went back to the garage, it didn't feel unpleasant, if anything she felt safe.
While it wasn't a date, it certainly went better than Dave's actual dates.
Willow's date had so much awkwardness it's probably why she couldn't work properly back in Greenland.
Naoko's date nearly put Dave into a coma with all the exercise Naoko made him do.
Yuffie and Sujin's dates saw Dave lose a ton of money, Yuffie being the reason he has so many parking tickets although she did apologize and pay for dinner while Sujin hustled Dave out of hundreds playing Pool.
Coleen's date ended with a lot of expensive payments for all the alcohol Coleen drank.
Larasu was fun until she wanted to examine Dave's brain.
Pamela was the best of the bunch and it wasn't even a date.
But the wheels of fate were turning as Dave would meet another woman, one that no human could tame.
