Do I hafta?

As many of you may just have read over on Shika's world, our lives are what you might term as 'slightly hectic' at the moment. Since my last post, there have been quite a few developments:

  • We persist in vain attempts at healing our mangled bodies.

  • Shika's graduation party went well, in which, among other things, she received tickets to Coldplay courtesy of mwah (the tour dates got all befuddled a week ago, so now instead of hearing our lovely Brits in July, we have to wait till November. uber suck), which is completely overshadowed by her frickin' wicked spiffy Gretsch drum set courtesy of los padres and my WaMu card, which triggered...
  • the on-going game of musical rooms in which Shika's has been eliminated, making way for our newly developed music room, housing over a dozen instrumets, triggered, of course, by the need to have space for Shika's recently acquired drums (which she's named (in descending order by size) Kurogane, Chad, Kyo, Ginji, and Sokka, with Goku as the snare (no love for the cymbals, apparently) resulting in Shika and myself becoming bunk buddies. We've each parted with half our belongings to make everything fit. How fun.
  • I've been working (with Shika's assistance on multiple occassions) at least 50% more than usual.
  • One of these past weekends was taken up by a three day convention at Kansas City's Kemper Arena. We became so insufferably lost following my father's mumbled directions at how to avoid the construction detours that we nearly strangled him. Plus, he never answers his cell phone. *breathing threat and murder*
  • Our yearly vacation to a cabin outside Estes Park in the Colorado Rockies is a mere two days away, something we all long for, but something my mother fears she'll "be too broken to survive." Undertaking this project of switching all the furniture in our house while we are all in a vulnerable physical condition was a poor, yet necessary, choice.

There you have it, the reasons for my recent absence, and therein lies the reason for my continued absence. I hope to read Richard Hammond's autobiography ('hamster' on Top Gear) and do quite a bit of work on Sanzo Wannabe while I'm away.

Till a much later time...toodles.
