I looked at the clock and my eyes widened. "Guess cake will have to wait til tomorrow..." I took Todd, who had fallen asleep at the table, and handed him to Pops. No wonder the house had gotten quiet. I sat back down at the table. Jenny yawned. "I think we should go to bed. I shook my head. "I haven't slept well....you go to bed." Her eyes narrowed. "You need sleep too!" I sighed. "If I go to sleep I'll just wake up. The only sleep I've had has been when I was sick or knocked out." She took my hand. I realized I was probably upsetting her so I stopped talking about it. I stood up and kissed her forehead. "You go to sleep. I'll be here when you wake up." She looked into my eyes. "Will you?" I smiled. "Of course." She stood up. "Please try to get some sleep." She didn't go of my hand. Instead she drug me up to the room I was to be sharing with Max and made sure I went in before she kissed me on the cheek. "Goodnight Jenny." She started towards her room. "Night Dante." I watched her go and then closed the door. Max wasn't here either. I went over to one of the beds and laid down. I closed my eyes, but I kept seeing needles and blood. After am hour of rolling around I sat up. I couldn't stop the nervous laughter that came up. I climbed out of bed and headed to the bathroom. Maybe sleeping pills will help. I opened the cabinet and took a couple. "What do you think you're doing young man?" I jumped, dropping the bottle of pills into the sink. I turned to see Pops watching me. "I...I couldn't sleep." He shook his head. "No son if mine is going to get addicted to sleeping pills. You do know people die from those!" I sighed. "It doesn't look like you could sleep either..." His face turned red, and he nervously rubbed the back of his head. "Well...that..that's um.." I shook my head. "I don't want to know. Anyway I already took two." I headed past him and back to my room. "Dante." I turned around. "I know we all went through a lot....j..just don't do anything stupid like me ok." I shook my head. "I'm...trying." I closed the door and crawled back into bed. When I closed my eyes I was greeted with wanted blackness.
