I'll break this day down into GOOD and BAD...
GOOD: Got a haircut. This was well overdue, because when my hair starts to grow out it just gets yucky. The hair tends to clump, accentuating the incipient hair loss I've begun to experience (if that makes any sense). When it's short, it's managable and I can actually use my spray gel so it won't just lie flat.
BAD: I had a doctor's appointment today with my regular doctor, whom I haven't seen since July. Despite our requests, it doesn't look like the people at the hospital have been communicating with him, so we had to get him up to speed some on the infection I've been recovering from.
He was concerned because in his mind, I shouldn't have even caught the bacteria that caused the infection (although I really don't have that strong of an immune system), so he wanted a complete immunilogical blood screening done, including an HIV test, which as you could imagine put me on edge. He wants to make sure something else isn't lurking in the background which may have been the root cause.
BAD: Since we were already out, we stopped in at the lab for the bloodwork. But my body wasn't in a giving mood today. While they managed to get some blood, it took them 5 jabs with the needle. Hopefully they got enough, but if not they'll call us. We have to go back anyway, because something else the doctors up at the hospital want is a sputum sample. However, since my lungs are pretty much clear of the infeciton now, I haven't coughed up any more junk in months. We'll have to induce coughing by putting some saline in a nebulizer. I'll breathe it in, which will irritate my lungs and force deep coughing.
I think I'll go crawl into my corner now...
