Just got my latest CD order in the mail, so here I am to share it with you.
I am a huge fan of PORCUPINE TREE, the British progressive rock band founded by the brilliant Steven Wilson. Recently I've been delving into Wilson's side projects, first BLACKFIELD, and now NO-MAN.
I ordered their latest album (released just last month), Schoolyard Ghosts, as well as one of their older CDs, Flowermouth. I especially like the packaging for Schoolyard Ghosts: it comes with a bonus DVD-A that contains the entire album in 5.1 stereo as well as 3 videos. The case is a double-gatefold digipak, very pretty.

No-Man's style is very light and ambient, as compared to Porcupine Tree's mix of prog rock and metal, and Blackfield's experiemtnal pop/rock. Here's the description from Wiki: "Drawing from a diverse mix of Singer-songwriter, Post Rock, Minimalist, Progressive Rock, Jazz, and Contemporary Ambient sources for inspiration, No-Man's sound is distinctive, yet difficult to categorise." Also, while Wilson is vocalist of PT and does most of the singing for Blackfield, No-Man's vocals are predominantly handled by Wilson's collaborator, Tim Bowness.
And here for your pleasure is the video for the radio edit of "Truenorth" from Schoolyard Ghosts:

I'd also like to thank everyone who wished my Mom a speedy recovery.
She's doing alright, but it's hard for her to stay comfortable for any length of time. She was up at 5 AM today reading because she couldn't sleep. She also has a bag attached to her chest for drainage of the operated area, which she has to wear until Tuesday.
