Gantz is definitely more scifi than horror but the fact that it was allowed to be animated meant that a lot of horror series were allowed to be - uncensored horror is the best ^_^

I just don't get to watch anime as often... To me watching anime is takes a bit longer...
I would actually consider Gantz more scifi even though it has wonderful action and gore. (I really need to read that manga all the way through...)
You'd be amazed the bizarre takes on zombies in manga... I'm not a bug fan of zombie either... I just don't really see the appeal.
I've done for a few friends in the past, but if you pm me some genre and series you like. (as well as your comfort level with mature series and gore and stuff) I'd be happy to shoot you back a list of series you'd probably like! (I just do not have the time to review everything I've ever read! lol)
I probably split my time evenly between anime and manga and you know there are a lot more horror anime nowadays, pretty much since Gantz came onto the scene that horror was finally allowed to be animated without censoring *everything*. Hey if you come across anymore decent horror manga let me know - unless its zombies they are the one thing I cant handle. And clowns. Zombie clowns are just nightmares in the making right there mate D:

I am definitely a manga fanatic! I watch some horror anime but I've never gone out of my way for it.
Also there's a lot of great horror manga that never get anime!
I love horror too!
They aren't series, they are one shots, but if you look up Itou Junji Ktoufu Manga Collection, or just Itou Junji Mnaga Collection, you'll find the collection of all of his short horror manga, which is about 16 volumes of terror long!
