ECW TV - December 31st, 1999
ECW World Championship Match
Masato Tanaka(c) VS. Mike Awesome

This is one of the matches that solidified Mike Awesome and Masato Tanaka as 2 of my favorite wrestlers. It also opened my eyes to the fact that there were alot of very talented wrestlers in the original ECW company, and these two wrestlers would trade the ECW World Title back and forth multiple times during the year of 1999. This is one of those matches.

This match was on an ECW compilation dvd that i bought a couple of years ago, and at the time i hardly knew anything about ECW, but a guy that i work with raved about how awesome alot of the matches were and would tell me about certain awesome moments and matches that occurred during the company's history, so when i saw the dvd one morning before i left work, i bought it. The next night at work me and the guy i work with were on lunch, and i brought the dvd and when i told him that i had bought it, he said he wanted to see the list of matches it had. Not even a minute after looking at it, he said "We have to watch the Mike Awesome & Masato Tanaka match right now" lol, and so we did :)

The match itself would be summed up as Mike Awesome being the Irresisteble Force and Masato Tanaka being the indestructible object. Both men knew each other inside and out because they had wrestled in the Japanese promotion called FMW, so they were bitter rivals. This match had so many awesome moments though, from chair shots, to actual technical wrestling moves. Mike Awesome was so agile to be 6'6 - 292 lbs., he could stand on the top rope and jump all the way over the guard rail into the crowd onto his opponent with ease. Masato Tanaka was a fighting champion, and one of the toughest men ever, he was so resilient and unbelievebly strong, he just kept coming and getting back up for more. In the end Mike Awesome connected with his famous "Awesome Bomb" (powerbomb) off of the top rope and was able to pin Masato Tanaka to win the ECW World Title :)

WWF Monday Night RAW - July 11th, 1994
WWF World Title Match
Bret Hart(c) VS. 123 Kid

This is another one of the rare matches ive been lucky enough to have in my dvd collection. I actually had not know that Bret Hart and 123 Kid (Sean Waltman) had wreslted each other before, especially for the WWF World Title lol. The match itself was a technical masterpiece, and i never knew that 123 Kid could keep up with the skills of Bret Hart, but he did exactly that. He took it to the next level by connecting withtop rope moves outside of the ring, and also some pretty cool martial arts kicks as well. There was a moment during the match where the referee counted a 3-count while Bret Hart had pinned 123 Kid, but the ref didnt see that 123 Kid had his foot touching the bottom rope, which breaks any pinfall, or submission hold. Bret hart being a cool sport about the whole thing let the ref know that 123 Kid was touching the rope before the 3 count ended, and that he wanted the match to continue. After the WWF President at the time (Gorilla Monsoon) gave the go-ahead the match was approved to keep going. The 2 men continued their fast paced offenses, but 123 Kid took too many chances jumping off the top rope and Bret Hart caught his legs in the middle of a top rope dropkick and quickly put him in the Sharpshooter. 123 Kid eventually submitted and Bret Hart was able to retain his WWF World Title and showed respect by helping his opponent up to his feet.

TNA Victory Road 2004
20 Man Battle Royal for the World X Cup

Here are the 20 men who competed in the Battle Royal

Kaz
Sonjay Dutt
Puma
La Parka
Jarell Clark
The Great Muta
Matt Bentley
Hector Garza
Tozawa
Mikey Batts
Alex Shelley
Matt Sydal
Sonny Siaki
Jason Cross
Sharkboy
Psicosis
D-Ray 3000
The Amazing Red
Spanky (Brian Kendrick)
Chris Sabin

This is still one of my favorite TNA matches of all time, simply because it had so many cool wrestlers, new and old. The rules of the match were that 2 men started in the ring and every minute another man would enter. You are eliminated if you are thrown over the top rope onto the ground. When there are just 2 men left, a referee enters the ring and you must win by pin or submission.

The ring filled up with wrestlers pretty quick and i was glad to see alot of mexican and japanese wrestlers in this match. The action was fast paced and fun to watch, and a few guys were able to do double team moves and even their special moves. In the end it came down to Hector Garza and Frankie Kazarian. They put each other in some high impact moves and when Hector Garza missed his Corkscrew Senton Splash off the top rope, Kazarian tried to roll him up for the quick win, but Hector Garza reversed his roll up into his own rollup for the win. Along with the match, Hector Garza would win the World X Cup ( a huge trophy)

Japan Supershow March 21st, 1991
Tag Team Title Vs. Title Match

The Steiner Brothers(WCW World Tag Team & United States Tag Team Champions)
VS.
Kensuke Sasaki and Hiroshi Hase (IWGP Tag Team Champions)

This match is on the newest wrestling dvd that i bought a couple of weeks ago, and it quickly became one of my favorites lol. I always love watching wrestling matches that take place in Japan because it always brings out the best in the wrestlers. The Japanese wrestlers and fans take wrestling very seriously, so there isnt any slouching around or halfway doing things thats for sure. by 1991 standards, this match was really innovative for it's time and it was VERY high impact. Scott Steiner was suplexing people everywhere, and even connected with a Tigerbomb, which recieved a cheer from myself and the guy i work with while we were watching this match at work lol. The japanese team quickly retaliated with an equal barrage of strong strikes and heavy grapple moves. Kensuke Sasaki did the greatest clothesline EVER, and i really hope i can find a way to show it to you guys, it was just ublelievable lol. Rick Steiner did a complete backflip in mid -air lol. In the end, The Steiner Brothers were able to connect with their tag team Top rope Bulldog finishing move - followed up with a standing Frankensteiner by Scott Steiner for the win and all 3 Tag Team Titles, and a few japanese trophies as well :)

Well, i suppose that will be all for the matches today, ill be sure to post pics of the trophies the Steiner Brothers won in my next post, so be on the lookout :)

I hope to chat with you all soon :)

Jason VS. the World : Part 2

Hello everyone,

Im back again with some more pics and more wrestling info about what ive been up to for the past couple of days :)

I'll be posting the other stuff on my other worlds, but im going to post the wrestling related stuff here for those of you who are wrestling fans, that way you wont have to go back and forth between my wrestling world and my videogame world lol.

Yesterday i spent a good part of the day chatting with xaos about some random wrestling stuff, and i even showed him some more of my wrestling pics from the Smackdown VS. Raw 2009 videogame. We also chatted about our created wrestlers and details about how they look and the moves they use, etc. which was pretty fun, thats for sure :)

I ended up having an animal emergency yesterday while we were chatting though, so i ended up having to leave xaos hangin, hopefully we will be able to chat some more today though :)

later last night when we got the animal emergency resolved, i finally got the chance to sit down and rest, so i started playing Legends of Wrestlemania for Xbox360. I managed to win 2 seperate 10 man Gauntlet matches in Legend Killer mode using my created wrestler that i was able to import from SvR2009. I was able to unlock some new match types, alternate wrestling attires for a few wrestlers, and i even unlocked a slew of Xbox achievements in the process. Shortly after playing for a couple of hours, i ended up falling asleep lol. I woke up around 3 this morning and for some strange reason i felt the urge to look up stuff about the wrestler "Ravishing" Rick Rude lol. He has always been one of my favorite wrestlers, and i found great enjoyment listening to his original entrance music on youtube, here is the youtube video of his music lol

"Ravishing" Rick Rude Entrance music

After looking at stuff online, i decided to watch my dvd of Wrestlemania 5 while i was laying down. I always love watching the wrestling stuff from the 1980's - Wrestling was such a booming industry back then and it is pretty awesome to see how everyone was just so excited about everything that was going on :)

Well, thats enough of my rambling lol, here are some more pics of my created wrestler from Smackdown Vs. Raw 2009

Well, i suppose that will be all for this post, if i come across anything else to post, ill probably put up another post, so be on the lookout :) I hope to chat with you all soon :)

Jason Vs. The World : part 1

Hello Everyone :)

Its good to finally post again, especially since ive been pretty lazy this past week lol. Today's post will be the first of a collection of posts about my created wrestler on the Xbox360 game Smackdown VS. RaW 2009. Yesterday when i got home from work i felt like editing my wrestler on that game, so i changed his appearance, his entrance, along with his entrance music - and i also created a new special move with the games' "create-a-move" feature :)

Last night while i was on lunch at work, me and my friend were playing the game for the first time in a few months. It took us a while to get the hang of the controls again, and once we got the feel back, we put our WWE Tag Team Titles on the line against Hardcore Holly and Cody Rhodes for their World Tag Team Titles in an Extreme Rules Match.

It was a grueling match which we almost lost, but we were able to pull it together to get the win and to become undisputed Unified Tag Team Champions (that means we have both seperate Tag Team championship titles).

Our 2nd match was a 6 man elimination battle royal in which i put my WWE Intercontinental Title on the line, and Hardcore Holly's Hardcore Title was also on the line. I ended up eliminating 4 of my 5 opponents in the match (including my friend lol). I beat Chris Jericho, Shawn Micheals and my friend by submission with the "Dragon Sleeper" maneuver, and i pinned Hardcore Holly after delivering one of my created finishing moves which i dubbed "The Mel Gibson Overdrive" lol. It is basically a spinning piledriver lol.

Our 3rd match of the night was truly a spectacle, and im thankful that the Xbox360 has the "Highlight Reel" option where you can save replays of matches, and edit them with sound effects, music, etc. like a montage or commercial that you would see on tv. The 3rd match was a Tag Team Hell in a Cell Match, where me and my friend agreed to put our newly won World Tag Team Titles on the line against the team of Snitsky & Umaga.

Right when the match began, my friend ad i immediately left the ring and busted open the cage door, got out of the cell, and then i climbed to the top of the cell. My friend waited by the door to ambush our opponents as they came out of the cage dorr after us lol. While i was standing on top of the cage i had a brainstorm - I told my friend to throw one of our opponents on top of the announcer's table, which is not far from the ring. Once my friend threw Umaga onto the table, i jumped off of the top of the cage (a 20 feet high cage) and did a double foot stomp onto Umaga's stomach, which totally destroyed the table LOL. It was such an awesome feat that i saved the replay using the Highlight real option so that i could take pics of it and always have it to show other people lol.

When i got home this morning i decided to use my webcam to take pics of my created wrestler, one of my created finishing moves, my entrance,(as well as my tag team entrance with the guy i work with), and i also took step by step pics of me doing the double foot stomp off of the top of the cage lol. It is a total of 32 pics, so im going to pace them out over the course of multiple posts, so be sure to check back for more pics! :)

ill start with the pics of the Double foot stomp off of the cage lol

Thats me connecting with the stomp, right on his stomach

This is the aftermath lol, I stomped him straight through the table and the table just exploded everywhere lol.

Well, that's all the pics i can put up in this post, but ill be adding another post in a couple of minutes with some more pics, so be sure to check out both posts, especially if you are a wrestling, or videogame fan :)

Also, if you have any questions about this game or wrestling in general, feel free to message myself or xaos and im sure we'll help you out the best we can :)

I hope you like the pics, even though they are crappy quality lol, i hope to chat soon :)

stay strong,

Back for another Round

Hello everyone,

I had so much fun posting earlier, that im back with some more stuff to post about lol. I already had these screenshots prepared for the next post for this world, so i thought id just go ahead and put them up today, even though i had already posted. Plus i wanted to post one of these matches up for a friend, because i remembered chatting with him about it a couple of times and i also remembered how much he enjoyed it himself :)

Here are 3 more matches for your pleasure :)

Wrestlemania 3 - March 29th, 1987
Intercontinental Championship Match
"Macho Man" Randy Savage(champion) VS. Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat

Im posting about this match for for my friend Xaos :) This is the match we have chatted about on multiple occasions and certainly for good reason :) Wrestlemania 3 is widely considered the greatest Wrestling event in history. As far as i know, it still holds the record for the largest indoor crowd attendance for a sporting event (93,173) - thats alot of people lol. This match is often recognized as "the match that stole the show" by most fans, and also became the inspiration for many other current wrestling stars today to become wrestlers themselves. Randy Savage and Ricky Steamboat both wrestled a high speed, no limit style of match that was the first of it's kind in 1987 and set the bar for matches to come. It's one that has to be seen to be believed, especially after Ricky Steamboat survived the Macho Man's dreaded Top rope Flying Elbow Drop and illegal tactics with a instinctive roll-up pin for the win, and the Intercontinental Championship :)

WCW Slamboree - May 22nd, 1994
For the Vacant WCW World Heavyweight Title
Sting VS. Vader

This match was on the newest wrestling dvd that i just recently bought, and it quickly became one of my favorites. This match came to be shortly after Sting lost the title to Ravishing Rick Rude in Japan. A short time later, it became known that Rick Rude was injured and he couldnt defend the title, so he was stripped of the tile and WCW decided to have a match for the vacant title between the top 2 wrestlers at the time - Sting and Vader. This match pretty brutal because Vader is a smash-mouth type of wrestler. he is pretty agile for his size and he is feared all over the world because he is so powerful and aggressive. This match went back and forth for the most part, but Sting managed to capitalize on some missed top rope moves by Vader, as well as some ill-advised interference from Vader's manager Harley Race. After a top rope splash, Sting was the WCW World Heavyweight Champion once again.

ECW Living Dangerously - March 21st, 1999
ECW Television Championship Match
Rob Van Dam(champion) VS. Jerry Lynn

This is probably the greatest combination of "hardcore" wrestling and "pure" wrestling youll ever find lol. Before i had watched this match, i had never really been interested in ECW or the hardcore wrestling style, but after talking about ECW with a guy i work with, he informed me that alot of wrestlers in ECW were pretty innovative in their matches - especially with the use of chairs. Rob Van Dam and Jerry Lynn brought down the house with their daring combination of high risk moves and reversals with and without steel chairs, tables and anything else that wasnt nailed down lol. I have a few matches that i can watch over and over again and this is certainly one of them because what these 2 men do is so unbelievable. In the end they wrestled until the time limit expired, but when the fans kept chanting "5 more minutes!", the champion agreed and the match kept going. A couple of minutes later, Rob Van Dam was able to land his Five Star Frog Splash and retain his T.V. Title. Both men earned each other's respect though.

Well, i think that will be it for this post, i had alot of fun typing it up though :) I sure hope you all enjoy it thats for sure :) I thank you for visiting and i certainly look forward to posting more soon! :)

stay strong,

Yamcha
