Late Night Arrival

Ewww lame title....sorry x.x

~Flyte~

The plane touched down around 2 am. No moon. Of course there wouldn't be a moon....I shivered, wrapping my cloak around me. Yes, it was getting me weird looks, but they would get much weirder once they saw a blue-skinned girl walking around. Let's not even mention the wings. Or the tail (which I was surprised no one had noticed.

What was I even doing here? This was crazy; crazier than usual for me. Who flies a few thousand miles because of a dream....the man on the phone must have thought I was crazy too, especially when I told him he had given me the number. In the dream, of course, because that makes perfect sense. Yet here I was....and there he was waiting. Honestly, I was surprised he hadn't blown me off as an insane person. He glanced up as I came down the stairs, a slightly surprised look on his face.

"I'm guessing you must be Flyte?"

"And you must be Sebastian." I offered a warm smile, then closed my mouth quickly, trying to hide the fangs I always forgot about. But the man simply chuckled, flashing a set of his own.

"I think you'll be right at home."

"Oh...you have no idea...."

The house Sebastian drove me to was impressive, even for the Cali standards I was used to. I wished I would be staying. But I was only here long enough to speak to….what was the name….Akira? Yes. How she would react to all this, I couldn’t say. Just like I had no idea what would happen when I did speak to her, or what I would say.

“Akira is asleep, or should be. Can it wait until morning?”

“Of course. I could use a nap myself.”

He moved to take my bag, but I shook my head. “I can get it. It’s not heavy.”

“If you’re sure….” Reluctantly he let me go, maybe sensing me tense when he had reached for it.

“As sure as I can be after such a long flight.”

Both of us were fairly quiet on the way inside. He wanted to ask, I could tell, but it wasn’t until we reached a room that the words came out. “You said a dream told you to come here.”

“It did….”

“Why?”

I walked to the window, trying not to look at him. “I don’t know. I just know that…it’s important. Maybe for you, maybe for me…I guess only time will tell.”

Sebastian wasn’t satisfied completely, no matter what he said, but he nodded and turned to leave. “Whatever it is….welcome.”

Red eyes. Glowing. Bleeding. Burning. Piercing through me. My condo in California burned in the reflection of those eyes. People were running, screaming, trying to escape the flames.

“You can’t hide forever,” a sinister voice hissed. “I’ll find you. And everyone you love will be destroyed.”

“I used to think maybe you loved me now baby I'm sure
And I just cant wait till the day when you knock on my door.”

‘I’m Walking On Sunshine’ is not a good way to wake of from a nightmare. Note-to-self, change ringtone.

“Hello?” I tried to clear the fog from my head.

“Flyte! Where are you?!”

The panic in Kaspyr's voice brought me out of my groggy state. “Kas? Out of town….what’s wrong?”

“Somebody torched your place.”

My mouth fell open. No words could come out. How….it couldn’t be…not again….

“Flyte?”

“Run, Kas.”

The tone in my voice made him pause. “What are you---”

“Run! Get out of that city before….just go!”

Before he could answer, I had hung up on my best friend and chucked my cell across the room. So the dreams really were back. And I might be staying here longer than I thought.
