All She Finds is Inadequacy

Vevila

***

Since I’m (trying to) write in 3rd person limited to Vevila, I’ll be referring to Ash as a boy until her gender is revealed to the rest of the club (if it ever will be).

I know some people have referred to Vevila in their posts already, but I’m going to start where she first enters the club after being brought here by Ash (see “Mini Story Collection” under misc), and try to work it out from there. "orz Just assume that this post is before most of yours as far as timeline goes. The next posts should be caught up with the current timeline. """orz

Also, I like weird titles. .u.;

Characters used (in order of appearance): Ash, Akira, Sam, Ela

The boy who escorted Vevila to the mansion batted hastily on the mansions door, anxiously waiting for someone to answer. The poor boy; It was true that Vevila was not the best company.

“This is the club the vampire boy told me about?” Vevila questioned from behind the jittery boy, causing him to start.

“Aheh, yup, this is the place! Now, if only they were a little bit better about answering doors,” he said with forced cheeriness. He smiled nervously, knocking with a bit more effort on the last words.

Finally, relief came to him as a woman—though a bit unfeminine for a female, Vevila observed—opened the mansion doors. Vevila’s initial escort retreated to the inside depths of the building without so much as a “good bye.”

“Hey!” Vevila cried as he ran off. “What about my bags?!”

“I’ll help with those,” the woman said. Grabbing the numerous amounts of luggage, the woman nodded as a brief greeting to Vevila.

“Hmph,” Vevila remarked in disapproval to the woman’s boyish clothing—a plain top and khakis. Why, her clothing was worse than the vampire boy’s! Regardless, Vevila flipped her beautiful long hair to indicate she deemed the woman was worthy enough to carry her belongings, and began walking down the hallway.

“That boy,” Vevila began, referring to the uneasy male who brought her to the mansion. “What is he?”

“He’s Ash,” the woman said with a shrug.

Vevila rolled her eyes. “I didn’t ask his name,” she spat. “I meant, what is he? What creature?”

“Oh. He’s a nymph.”

“A nymph?” Vevila almost laughed aloud. “A male nymph! I’ve never heard of that; how embarrassing that must be! And I would have never guessed, with such a mediocre appearance. Not much of a nymph, is he?”

The woman grunted, unamused.

“And what are you, woman?” Vevila questioned her new companion.

“I’m a werewolf.” She pointed out the fluffy dog ears on her head. “And the name’s Akira, lady,” Akira growled in annoyance.

“…Vevila,” she enlightened in reply.

Akira took two steps quicker than Vevila so she would lead the way down the hall. “Vevila… Oh, so you’re the fairy girl Sebastian told me about.”

“Alp Luachra.” Vevila frowned; In general she found women to be rather unbecoming, and Akira’s graceless behavior was most displeasing. She could tell this cohort would not be as easily compliant as the brown-haired boy who brought her here.

“Right. Anyway, Seb told me about you, and we’re not gonna have any man-eating here.” Akira dropped Vevila’s luggage in a bedroom, freeing her hands to place them on her hips. “It’s called murder, and it’s kind of a little bit illegal.”

“No eating!” Vevila scowled. “But I need to! How else am I to keep my appearance?”

Akira shrugged with indifference. “Beats me. There’s always make-up,” she said plainly, and turned to leave.

Such inhospitality! The woman hadn’t even assisted her in unpacking before departing. Vevila furiously poured her belongings—a multitude of sheer clothing and beauty products—onto her bed. Not in the mood to organize her wardrobe, she set out about the mansion to find someone to assist her. Perhaps the Ash boy would suffice.

She sauntered down the hallway looking for him until she came before what seemed to be a living room, and spotted a rather normal-looking light haired boy sitting on a couch. He was quite handsome, with bright blue eyes and a fair build. But his demeanor failed to concern Vevila as much as the look in his eyes did.

When he turned his eyes to spot Vevila, the boy gave her a familiar look that pleased her greatly: that look of complete adoration, total captivation, absolute fascination. And Vevila twisted her lips up at her ability to mesmerize.

He was a human.

“Hello, you,” Vevila greeted in a higher tone than she previously spoke with Akira to begin her act. She planted herself shamelessly close to the boy on the couch, thighs touching.

“H-h-hey, um…” The boy attempted a greeting, but appeared too flustered for words. Vevila retained a smile, for she loved when she had such an effect on men.

“I’m Vevila Vanora. But you can call me whatever you like.” She twirled her hair with a finger, and inched even closer to the boy. The boy’s cheeks began to flush. “I’m from Belgium.”

“I’m Sam… uh…” Sam bit his lip from embarrassment, but attempted to keep speaking. “I-I’m um, a Biologist. Sorta…”

Vevila restrained herself from ridiculing Sam with laughter. What a dull boy! How could anyone find interest in such a dreary topic? But the talk of science reminded her of the man in the suit—she believed he had put a tracker in her. Perhaps Sam the scientist could be of some use to her.

“Wow,” she sighed. “You must be very smart!”

Sam smiled bashfully. “Nah, not really…”

“Do you have any experience as a surgeon?” Her question seemed to almost come randomly.

Sam blinked. “Wha?”

“You’re a biologist. You must have dissected animals and the like before.”

He scratched his head. “Uh… yeah, but that’s… not really…”

Vevila clasped her hands together. “Then you are like a surgeon!” she gushed.

So he had the capability to be of use to her. Perhaps he would be able to remove the darned tracker from her shoulder when the time came. She wanted it out soon; she had no money for hospitalization; Sam appeared to be the best alternative. But he was not a surgeon by trade; it would be risky to use him. She decided to wait it out for another option.

“I love men who are doctors. They’re so… intelligent. You understand, don’t you?” She flittered her lashes in a disgustingly charming façade.

“S…sure…?” Sam managed. His hand swept through his hair, and Vevila could see his ears were bright pink.

“Are you embarrassed, Sam?” She cooed.
“N-no! I, well, I just… It’s just… Um, you-you’re… really pretty is all,” he mumbled almost inaudibly.

Oh, so he's a stupid boy, she thought and grinned widely. She loved the idiotic men; they fell for her almost too easily for her to believe. The attention was delightful.

“And you’re a handsome boy,” she returned, and put a decorated nail to her lips. But with unfortunateness, he glanced at her fingers.

And the hypnotic effect she had on him washed out of his eyes.

"What's... what's up with your hands?" He said, his voice becoming clearer, less dreamy.

Vevila grimaced and placed her hands on her lap. “They’re fine,” she lied, and shot a look at their creased, gnarled appearance.

Sam showed discomfort and attempted an escape from the couch, but Vevila moved closer to him. She placed a hand delicately on his arm.

“Are you leaving already?”

“I-I, um… I…” the boy stuttered.

A young girl’s voice interrupted the two of them. “Hey!”

The two on the couch swerved their heads up. Vevila found herself before yet another boyish girl, this one with fiery hair and peculiar violet eyes. The girl forcefully pushed Vevila off of Sam, placing her at the other end of the couch.

“What the heck are you doing?!” she raged. The question was directed to Sam, but Vevila answered.

“We were only talking, is all,” she informed in a whispery voice, her expression changing to displeasure. “No need to get so jealous.”

“I’m not jealous!” The girl seethed, her cheeks turning the same shade as her hair. “Who the heck are you, anyway?!”

"I'm just a little fairy," Vevila answered with sarcastic innocence.

Sam looked deceived. “A Fairy. Of course.” He slumped in the couch.

“Anyway…” Vevila began, standing up from the couch, “I think I’ll find someone else to talk to. Your friend is a bit displeasing, Sam.” She smirked at the red-haired girl, and bid goodbye to the only human in the mansion.

Perhaps someone else would help her unpack her luggage.

And there’s that. BAH. Idk, abrupt ending. I kind of just wanted to get this over with because I didn’t really know where I was trying to go. The ending isn't a cliffhanger, or anything. WHO WILL HELP HER UNPACK HER LUGGAGE?!
Sam was kind of acting OOC but… my excuse is that he’s a human boy, so he acts weird around Vevila because she’s just like that. -u-b By the way, “the man in the suit” is from my previous post. YEAH. Still don’t know who he is.

I’ll try to write with the current timeline from now on. I’m still really behind in reading. AGH… I just finished reading the Kuroshiro-Griffin chapter pair, and I need to work backwards from there because I missed a lot. orz If anyone has posted any chapters with important plot points that I need to read, or ones you think I should read because Vevila is in it, could you PM them to me? ;u; I know, I’m terrible about keeping up… “orz Sorry to ask you guys to do this.
