Cuddles is a running joke actually xD. You see Back when I lived with my parents and younger sister I had a pet snake. My sister being eleven years younger than me was afraid of it. The snake would reach out to her and she'd flinch away. I made the joke "Aww come on Raven ekans only wants cuddles~" He had a purple tint to his scales (that's why we called him ekans) From then on we called every ekans cuddles lol.
You've got all these mythological character names for your Pokemon, and then... Cuddles the Ekans. Actually I kind of like that. It shows that Ekans can have a sweet side.
