It was just another night. The moon, the stars, fending off animal control. "Get back here!!" I smirked. They always seemed so surprised when we choose not to listen to them. There was a time I would have sunk my claws into their soft necks, but that was when I was an Alpha.
A tranq dart wizzed by my head. Sometimes I missed how easy it was when I could just kill them. I held no love for humans. The only thing that stoped me was that if she was alive it would make her cry. I could never stand it when she cried.
The cries soon stopped and I realized my job was done. I lept down from the trees and landed by the knocked out human. "I think you're getting slow in your old age Meeko. I was sure they tranqed you." I scowled and looked over at Zera. "I'd of left your heavy ass here too." She chuckled. "Maybe if you hadn't taken your sweet time knocking them out! What were you doing, taking a nap?!" She rolled her eyes. "Why do I always get teamed up with you? You're such a pain in my ass." I smirked. "I think you like me. You probably beg Sylvia to team us up." The mock look of disgust on her face was perfect. "Just so you know I was doing my job! I freed the hybrids in the truck while you distracted the humans." I sighed. "Yeah yeah. Another mission accomoplished. Can we go home now?"
Yeah...it was just another night. Humans thought we were just stupid animals. They trapped us, and put us in cages. They wanted to rule us. Make us their slaves. Some of us wanted peace. We who formed the Rebels. We rescued other hybrids. The other half wasn't as nice as us though. The Alphas. They want the opposite of the humans. They think hybrids are superior. They will kill anyone who stands in their way. Even innocents...like my Alice.
We took the new hybrids back to base with us. Our base ran throughout the sewers of the city. Pop a grate, pass a guard, and home sweet home. I left the newbies with Zera. They didn't have to join us, but we never turned one of our own out. I went back to my little apartment to find my little adopted brother Leo. He had fallen asleep at the dinner table waiting for me to return. I picked him and and carried him to bed. He is all I have left, and I will do everything in my power to protect him. He is the whole reason I joined the Rebels. His twotoned eyes opened and he rubbed one. "Welcome home MeMe-Nii." I smiled. "Yeah. Good to be back." I ruffled his hair. "Now go back to sleep kiddo. It's late." He nodded, and was out instantly. I went to my bed, laid down, and just stared at the ceiling. "Wonder how many of the new ones will join us." Sleep finally came and I dreamed of Alice.
~sorry for the weird opening. If any of yinz want to be the new recruits, I figured it would be a good opening. Hope I got Zera right. Figured she and Meeko could be partners. Was gonna use Raz but didn't think it would work as well.
