Disney magic~

Mood: External Image (in love and awe)
Listening to: nothing, just trying to remember the songs <3 (see below)

Hello everyone, nice to see everyone again Thank you for the comments on my last post <3 I feel this post is going to be shorter than the usual ones because I'm in an euphoric mood and can't write coherently for too long ^_^"
The purpose of the post is to share my viewing experience with you. Yesterday I watched The Little Mermaid and began Beauty And The Beast, which I finished today (or rather, tonight, since it's almost 11 p.m. here). I can proudly say that I'm still the same Disney fangirl I used to be when I was a kid, and I'm proud of it!

The Little Mermaid
I watched it expecting to feel what I felt back when I used to watch it everyday (and made my parents watch it too because we had only one TV), but I was amazed. I never memorized the opening sequence, but the music really got me this time and I felt like I'd been punched in the stomach ;_; Disney doesn't make good musicals anymore.
Moving on, Ursula scared me when I was a kid; however, now she seemed a lot...tamer compared to what I remembered her to be like. Sure, I grew up and I'm not so "soft" anymore, but I expected her to be more subtle, instead of grinning all the time and laughing evilly.
Overall, this movie was worth seeing again and I enjoyed the re-acquaintance with Ariel ^_^ Even though it's not my favorite Disney film, it still holds a special place in my heart (and the Part Of Your World sequence is memorable, to say the least).

Beauty And The Beast
This remains my favorite Disney movie to this day. I even liked it when I was little, even though I couldn't understand all the plot elements. I just knew everything about it was beautiful, from the animation to the music. I could stand there for hours and play it on my old VCR (that is older than me, and still works!) without getting bored of it. And I could do so today, too.
I can't find words to express how beautiful it was to see this movie again, it tugged at my heartstrings like no other animated movie has ;_; I wasn't attracted to normal "girl stuff" when younger, I was more fascinated with mystery, hence I'd always watch this expecting something different to happen or discovering something new each time.
A definite classic, no doubt about it. It will always have a special place in my heart.

If you haven't seen these movies, go see them. Right now. You don't know what you're missing. I've met people who don't want to watch them because they're "cheesy", or the classic excuse "animation is for kids". Well, these might be targeted primarily at children, but adults can enjoy them just as much.

Now I'm planning to watch all the Disney movies I missed, such as Aladdin, Pocahontas, Mulan, Fantasia and Hercules. I know, not having seen them sounds incredible, but my first Disney films were videotaped by my parents and I would watch them like that, since they weren't aired on TV. I'm also going to re-watch Atlantis: The Lost Empire and Peter Pan, hopefully soon. Speaking of Peter Pan, the book's coming out this Monday, so be sure to check out the post about scans and vote if you haven't (if you're interested, of course)~
Take care, everyone, and thank you for reading this small rant. I hope I've awakened some feelings of nostalgia for those who remember these masterpieces; they sure have done that for me
