Crossing the country - a trip to Sibiu and back

Hiya peeps! I bet you missed me ^_^ *flattering herself too much* I must say the last 2 weeks were awesome! School-wise, you can tell by reading my former post because I don't feel like going through that again. The best part was the last weekend (12-13 April) because I went on a trip to Sibiu! Beware, it's gonna be long! Let's take it step by step...

The departure
As some of you know, I live in Bucharest, the capital city of Romania (check the map on the Wikipedia page to see where it is). Ha ha, there are fairly a few hundred kilometers from the almost-border of the country to the middle! That about sums up the geography lesson.

We (the whole class, minus 3 girls who couldn't come and plus 2 guys, one of which was my former primary school classmate) had to meet in front of the high school at 7 a.m. A lot of us live kind of far from home so we had to get up at 5:30-6 a.m. with faces like -> =_= It was honestly funny to see everyone walking like zombies around the place, we were all sleepy and all we wanted was a bed! So we got on the bus and left Bucharest - it was pretty good traffic along the way, it's usually clogged up (you won't believe your eyes when you see).

The stupid stuff we did along the way
Yup, though it wasn't that stupid, I think we were the sanest group the driver has ever had! The first stop was at a gas station because he needed to take a break. I love stops; every time we stopped somewhere there'd be a huge line at the toilet XD I could barely keep my eyes open so I bought a Red Bull and some gummy bears :3 Nico said she had never drunk Red Bull before so I offered some of mine - I loved the fact that she became hyper after that XD And she only sipped a little! Goes to show you what these things do to you...

Oh, OH! A very important thing is that we listened to a CD one of us had made, so it didn't have any manele on it - absolutely hideous music genre, if I could call it "music". On it were songs from Pink Floyd, Eurythmics, Mika and a lot more (the CD lasted a few hours). We are almost all rockers in our class :3 Some unfortunate people tried to sleep but they couldn't because everyone else was making noise.

Sibiu, here we are!
At the end of a very long day, we got to Sibiu. We didn't stay there for more than 15 minutes, we didn't have a lot to see. It looks a lot like Bucharest only a lot cleaner and (maybe) less polluted. There was a huge plaza in the middle of the city (I guess, I'm not exactly sure if it was in the middle) and some fountains in the ground. A few kids were running across them and suddenly they got splashed! We took a lot of pictures in front of the fountains, as you can see below (I'm the one in the middle, the one on the left is Nico and the one on the right is Alexandra, another good friend of mine):

The place we stayed at
We left Sibiu and went to Sibiel, a small village and stayed at a host. It was a nice little place; I expected it to be modern but it was traditional, which was frankly what I needed: somewhere cozy to stay ^_^ The room Nico and I shared was extremely traditional-looking, it had plates on shelves and cups and all sorts of Romanian decorations (people living in villages used to -some still do- decorate their homes with these). On top of that, the woman in charge of the villa cautioned us "not to wake the girls up" after showing us the room. I thought there were little girls living in the house and we shouldn't make any noise - not a chance! After we shut the door we noticed a suspended basket-like swing behind it and there were 2 dolls in it! At that point I seriously began to doubt the woman's sanity.

Anyway, we all visited each other's rooms (the 7 boys slept in one room and the rest of the girls were 2-4 in a room) and everyone agreed ours was the creepiest! Only 2 girls said it was lovely and I agree with them. Those dolly looked spooky, almost like Chucky: one had a broken eye and eyelid! I also found a doll's head after digging through that basket *sinister fog sets* The meal was great, we had home-cooked food which was very tasty - we were already full after the first course! A few hours later, we were playing some silly games that people play on trips when all of a sudden the teacher (yup, we went with our headmaster -or how it's called) remembered she had some relatives nearby and she left to visit them -"nearby" meaning in a different town. What's that spell?! Yup, a-l-o-n-e! Freedom! I only had a glass of red wine after eating and I didn't drink more, even though we had 4 bottles of wine and 4 of beer (jeez, my classmates sure can exaggerate... -_-"), but some of them, especially girls, had lots more. 3 girls alone drank a bottle of wine...

Before the drinking part, after the teacher left, we went out of the villa and wandered around the village. It was about 8 p.m. so it was dark outside and the souvenir shop everyone went to was closed by the time me and Nico got there. I don't know if I've mentioned this yet but on the right of the villa was a cemetery!! To enter you had to pass through a massive wooden gate. So, me and Nico were messing around, me pulling out my pocket knife and promising to protect her in case of zombies (nope, I'm not a killer, I carry it with me to peel oranges at school -_-" No kidding.) Suddenly, we hear this eerie CREEEAAAAAK~ noise which sends a hoard of chills up our spines! Darn that half-open cemetery gate!! *forced laugh* Basically, I was itching to look and peeked through the gate. There was a man coming towards me!! @_@" He was about 10 meters away but I ran towards Nico, grabbed her wrist and dragged her through the villa's door immediately! (I knew it couldn't be a spiritual manifestation, I was showing off ^_^") But it WAS creepy because it was night, there was no one on the streets, we could only hear the wind howling and the water crashing on the rocks (there was a small river passing through the village).

We did manage to sleep, I actually slept like a log in that room ^^ The beds were very comfy ^^ The next day everyone kept asking us how we slept in that room, which became boring at one point. So much for the stay at the villa, almost everyone looked like zombies in the morning due to few hours of sleeping (I didn't, I slept 6 hours ^^)

The end...because it's getting long.
*listens to The Bloodhound Gang - The Bad Touch and sings* XD
Aaanyway, enough torture for one post. You'd better get used to it, though. There'll be few posts but they'll be long as Hell +_+ *gets smacked by friends who don't want to read that much* Hope everyone has a great week and sorry for writing so much - at least I won't have to write about it again, right? Unless I remember more, which is highly possible ^_^" *hugs* Thank you for putting up with me! See you next post!
Question: Why don't cars run with potato chips? (my answer next time! ^_~)
