To all you model kit colletors and "Star Trek" fans alike, today's a day of exciting news as TrekMovie.com has just reported that model kit manufacturers Round 2 and Polar Lights will be releasing a an authentically-detailed snap-together model kit for the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701, based on the 2009 movie "Star Trek" (better known as "Star Trek XI" or "Star Trek '09"). This model kit will be in a 1:2500 scale (11.5 inches). Be sure to look out for this item when it comes out in stores sometime in the later half of 2010, but that that the full release date is not yet confirmed. For now, here's a look at the kit's packaging below.
