News: ST '09 Nominated For 6 Saturn Award Categories

For those of you not familiar with the Saturn Awards, it's an annual event honouring the best in Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and horror. For this year's Saturn Awards event (scheduled to take place in Burbank, California on June 24, 2010), 2009's "Star Trek" has been nominated for 6 categories: Best Science Fiction Film, Best Director (J.J. Abrams), Best Writing (Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci), Best Make-Up (Barney Burman, Minday Hall, and Joel Harlow), Best Production Design (Scott Chambliss), and Best Special Effects (Roger Guyett, Russell Earl, Paul Kavanagh, and Burt Dalton).

I addition, the DVD boxset "Star Trek Original Motion Picture Collection" (which contains the first six "Star Trek: The Original Series" movies) has been nominated for the Saturn Awards' "Best DVD Collection" category.
