While I am not done uploading all 9 installments of my fan art drawing series "Anime Icons" on this website, I have at least taken the time this week to decide what to draw for my next two series of fan art darwings intended for art gallery showing at upcoming Otakuthon events: "Anime Icons 2" (to be drawn for Otaktuhon 2012) and "Anime Icons 3" (to be drawn for Otakuthon 2013). While each installment in each of the series will be based on a different anime, I don't want to give away yet what characters from each selected title will be drawn. You'll know when the drawings get uploaded on this website. Anyway, I here are the details for the series below:
Anime Icons 2
- Drawing No. 1 will be based on "Tetsuwan Atomu" (known in the English-speaking world as "Astro Boy")
- Drawing No. 2 will be based on "Galaxy Express 999" (1979 film version).
- Drawing No. 3 will be based on "Beast King GoLion" (1981). It's the anime from which the Lion Voltron part of 1984's "Voltron - Defender of The Universe" was adapted and edited.
- Drawing No. 4 will be based on 1967's "Mach Go Go Go", which the original "Speed Racer" T.V. series was dubbed and edited from.
- Drawing No. 5 will be based on "Lucky Star" (2007).
- Drawing No. 6 will be based on "Pocket Monsters" (1997. Also known as "Pokémon")
- Drawing No. 7 will be based on either "Ghost In The Shell" (1995) or "Ghost In The Shell: Stand Alone Complex" (2002).
- Drawing No. 8 will be based on "Inu Yasha" (2000).
- Drawing No. 9 will be based on the 1990s "Slayers".
Anime Icons 3
- Drawing No. 1 will be based on "Yu-Gi-Oh!: Duel Mosnters" (2000).
- Drawing No. 2 will be based on "Gurren Lagann" (2007).
- Drawing No. 3 will be based on "Lupin III" (1971).
- Drawing No. 4 will be based on "Cardcaptor Sakura" (1998).
- Drawing No. 5 will be based on the 1980s "Dirty Pair" anime.
- Drawing No. 6 will be based on "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" (2006).
- Drawing No. 7 will be based on "Cyborg 009" (1966).
- Drawing No. 8 will be based on on "Bleach" (2004).
- Drawing No. 9 will be based on either "Neon Genesis Evangelion" or the "Rebuild of Evangelion" film series.
