ACen Wrap Up.. Finally. Part 1

You ever sit in front of the computer and have no idea what to type? Well I really wanted to give a con breakdown, but I don’t really know how to put my thoughts into words right now. So I’ll just go on a whim and type randomly. So here we go.

A while back the group of people that I was going to ACen with decided, “Hey! Let’s have a party the day before we head to the convention and have it at Carney’s place.” So we did. The convention started on Friday, but we were going to head up on Thursday and spend an extra night so we could get our badges early, so we had the party Wednesday night. It started fairly slow with some rounds of Mortal Kombat 9 and me getting my assed kicked. I was just terrible. More people showed up and we headed outside to the fire my brother and his friends were having and pretty much talked shop geek style. We rolled back inside with more people and well that’s when the night starts to turn fuzzy… To save me some humiliation and other people that my by chance be on theO… *cough cough*All I know is the tally board that I keep count of shots on, whether it be a hockey game or a party it always keep tracks of shots, was all over the place and was above 12… And yeah that was that.

DAY 1

So Thursday, I did not want to wake up. And that feeling hung with me all day. It was not so cool. But thankfully I had comrades in pain, almost our entire car was feeling the same way. There really isn’t much to talk about for Thursday. We got to the hotel, hung around for awhile and then finally decided to stand in the long ass line for badge pickup. We began an area wide conversation about Doctor Who. Not on purpose though. We started our own conversation and people overheard and just started to butt in. It was very entertaining, but made us painfully aware of the man next to us. We got stuck next to some really weird dude with a pierced tongue. I thought of the Chris Rock joke about people with pierced tongues and started laughing hysterically and I just got weird looks from everybody around. But it was worth it. Then the guy I was with was being the biggest troll in the world. A woman drove up next to us and asked if we were in line for badge pick up and he immediately responded, “Nooo, we’re all just really bored.” The woman politely responded by calling him an asshole. We skipped in line to our friends and cut down our 5 hour wait to 2. That was very nice. And the day pretty much ended after we got our badges. The only thing that happened after was I stood outside the hotel room for a couple hours just looking at the lobby in my Canti helmet. I tried to end the night and sleep, but pretty much didn’t end up sleeping at all. So I stayed up with one of my roommates for the weekend and watched Venture Bros. and Harvey Birdman; Attorney at Law.

DAY 2

Friday, Friday, gonna vomit on Friday… I started my day with the worst anxiety attack ever!!! I’ve never had one this bad before. I guess I was nervous about my costume, which was odd because I’m not usually like that. But I got over it and got on my costume and got along with my day. Though it started off rough when the first thing I was asked by IRT was to check my head because it was too long in back. I shrugged it off and said screw that and went about my business into the convention hall with my friends who were dressed as Scott Pilgrim. At first they were on my ass about being a picture whore, but they ended with their fair share. I got hassled about the IRT again about my head again so they asked me to take it off. I complied this time and that’s when the pictures stopped. I was frustrated about my head and one of my legs busted so I took off my cos and just put on my Venture Bros. Henchman goggles. That’s around the time when me, Shultzie and my friend Sam decided to hit up some panels. I usually don’t go to panels at ACen, but Michael Sinterniklaas, the voice of Dean Venture and does a lot of animated features, had a lot of panels and I couldn’t miss that. I’m glad that I went. It was too funny. I recorded some of it, but have been far too lazy to put it up. But I will… EVENTUALLY!!!!! Me and Shultzie killed some time and did some things, like swing by the bar and try to catch the start of the Vancouver San Jose game. Maybe some other stuff happened in between, I don’t really remember. It was a lot to take in so my memory is a bit hazy. But we did go to “What happens at the Con, stays at the Con” panel with Spike Spencer. Once again, toooo effing funny. I have begun to enjoy Spike Spencer at conventions. The presentation of his panels are really enjoyable. I went my own way after the panel and met up with a friend from school and walked her back to her hotel. I ended up hanging there until like 12 just quoting Dragonball Z abridged. I headed back to my hotel room and might I say the skywalk between hotels at midnight is creepy as hell. Pretty close to I’m going to get raped and or stabbed, creepy. When I got back to the Hotel room everyone was pretty much asleep, but Ryu who was working on his panel. So I decided to take someone’s Mountain Dew and get to work on fixing my costume and packed up my stuff to move rooms on Saturday due to some room confusion on behalf of the Hyatt. And once again TRIED to sleep, but hell, it’s a convention, who sleeps?
