My name is Carney, a ridiculous name for a person in my opinion. I am a man of many a tale. I have some awesome brain tweaks that make my life very interesting. If you are tuning in to my world for the first time you will realize my love for Doctor Who, Venture Bros., Metal, and anime (derp). But I enjoy mostly old anime, but time and again I'll find something very interesting that's new.

[Still working on awesome banner to insert here]

These are the different sides of me:
1. I am a hockey goalie. I live, breathe, and sleep hockey.

2. I am currently employed by Lego and have a NonDisclosure Agreement with them.

3. I enjoy cos-ing and would always love to do more so of it.

4. Hardcore gamer. Love games, but low cash flow.

5. A damn good looking dude. Maybe. Probably.

That Time of the Year

So my close friends are aware of what March means for me. No I'm not talking Basketball, or the end of Winter or beginning of Spring. People I'm talking about soul... So in my case it be bloody Saint Patty's Day. I grew up in a very Irish household. My mom is first generation Irish American, so naturally she has Celtic crosses and Gaelic sayings here and there, mostly there. But this meant that we treated Saint Patty's Day as a holiday bigger than Christmas, but it wasn't just for one day. We celebrated the whole month of March as a huge month of Irish festivities. But unfortunately my family has broken apart and I'm pretty much on my own to have a blast.
The beginning of March is very important so that all goes well. This year, and usually every year, I took my list of music and added everything Irish had. This includes Dropkick Murphy's, Flogging Molly, Eluveitie (Gaelic Metal Band), and yes even a little Irish moods. Oh the horrible noise of Irish moods, but its Irish music so it must be put into the playlist. So all together I have roughly 2gb of Irish music that I can only listen to. Some might be asking "That must get repetitive after a week." And I assure you good people of theO, yes, yes it does. Matter of fact it gets very repetitive, but thats what gets me into the mood.

The next phase of this operation, which I am calling OPERATION RISH.... (the periods are included), is to clear out my mini-fridge and fill it with nothing but Green River and other assorted Irish drink which I am not disclosing at this time. But moving on. I cannot enjoy any other soda but Green River during March. Its just how I work. Though Green River can mess with your personal innards so I'm not limiting it to Green River, I just don't enjoy any other soda at this time.
As it draws closer to the 17th, I start to religiously watch my favorite Irish comedian, Ed Byrne, while I make loaf after loaf of Irish Soda Bread. I find Ed Byrne very funny and his accent is very soothing during March. But I have limitations to it now, seeing a person close to me, thought to be a friend, made me watch it religiously outside of the month of March and I died a little bit inside because of it. Ryu would agree with me that this so called "friend" can ruin anything that you hold dear.
....Germans....
The most important phase is the final Phase and that is actually on Saint Patrick's Day and that is that I must enjoy all the glories of previous phases with a nice big plate of Corned Beef and Cabbage. I enjoy each individual thing very much so aside, but together on this specific day its pretty much Nirvana for me. And I now must do all of these alone this year. Huzzah to March, now let me go drink myself silly....

My Gundam Drought is Over!

Last night I had downloaded the latest in the Gundam series. At first I was a bit shaky about it being put into OVAs and the art style scared me a bit. I'm a fan of the old Gundam art, but after watching 00 and seeing how great that art style was I was a bit upset. I understand that they're pretty much going back in time and they wanted to keep the same art style.

Well I sat down this afternoon between classes to watch it. That was 57 min and 52 sec well worth my time. The art style works really well now that I watched in the hi-def and saw that they used the same style but made it crisper and more enjoyable. And the mechs although slightly different since the original Zeon era are fan-effing-tastic. I was really impressed with the new Zaku type models. And the OVA are surprisingly a good format for this series. I think if they had put it into episodes it wouldn't flow as nicely and it would take to long for the plot to develop.

I will be anxiously awaiting the next one too actually see Unicorn to kick some ass.

UPDATE: I just noticed that the new series of gundam is not being done by Bandai, but by Sunrise instead... Could this be better for Gundam fans alike.. Because I despise Bandai.. Just a personal opinion...
