Resort World Catskills announced today that its new luxury casino resort will open at 888 Resort World Drive in Monticello, New York, 12701 to celebrate the Lunar New Year.
The casino resort recognized that "888" is a number in the Chinese numeral system, meaning good luck, and chose this address to indicate the expected good luck of future customers. The 388 has been considered a symbol of good luck and prosperity for thousands of years. The source of this mysterious belief comes from Chinese culture, where words such as numbers contain the meaning of the words.
Resort World Catskills will also celebrate its Asian heritage by accelerating the opening of new luxury resort casino properties from March 1 to Feb. 8, just in time for Lunar New Year's Day.

The luxury casino resort will celebrate the 15-day celebration with a series of festivals and events, including a red envelope surprise and a traditional dragon dance that welcomes the Year of the Dog. The celebration will be a bright and engaging presentation that matches Asian customs and fits the story of celebrating the New Year.
The Lunar New Year begins on Feb. 16. Details about the ceremony for the resort's World Catskill, which will include a traditional dragon dance, will be announced later.
