You can't really dust for vomit.

The only bad thing about having a four-day weekend: Going back to work and getting used to the routine again. <_<;

Up in the Air (2009): Good movie, and definitely timely given not just the state of the economy but also the direction in which technology is leading us (which is a theme I didn't expect to come up in this movie). In our mad race for efficiency and cost-saving, we almost gleefully run toward dehumanizing the working process -- and the career of George Clooney's character (corporate downsizing; as in, he fires people for a living) is already dehumanizing enough. There's a surprising amount of warmth to the movie, too, although it seems almost inevitable that it won't last too long in this story. Definitely recommend, and Jason Reitman is quickly becoming a damn good director.

Tyson (2008): This documentary shows a side to boxer Mike Tyson that a lot of which many people are probably not aware. Now, Tyson has done and said many stupid and/or terrible things in his life. And he says some things that are not so great in this documentary, too. But there's a lot that shows that, if Tyson had the proper guidance through his life, he probably would have turned out much better than he did. And he did have good guidance at one point in his life when his trainer, Cus D'Amato, took Tyson off the streets and under his wing ... but he died when Tyson was at his most vulnerable, and the next decade was basically filled with stupid life choices and numerous people taking advantage of a guy who didn't become accustomed to life until it was way too late.

This Is Spinal Tap (1984): My brother and sister have somehow gone their entire lives without seeing this, so I had to show them it over the weekend. Still as hilarious as ever. And if one of you has never seen this movie, then drop everything and watch it.

On the queue for this week: The Informant! (2009)
