4.26.2014 - 4.27.2014: Lost My iPhone

Okay. So, the title pretty much says it all...

On Saturday (April 26th), I lost my iPhone.

The way it worked was, uh...

I'm shooting a miniature film with some friends (it's like a JDrama/KDrama/CDrama-type thing (upon their request, not mine)), and one of the scenes takes place out on this field, right?

So we find this field across from my friend's house (where we regroup and stuff).

But, it's like... down the road and then across the street and then it's the field past the first field.

So we're walking there-- at 6 in the evening-- to do the shooting, and I have my iPhone in my pocket.

We jump the fence and continue to this field.

And this is the first time I've been there-- I wasn't able to make the first shooting session we had here.

And the grass was tall and clumpy and in uneven patches so that every step felt like you were able to break your ankle (mostly, anyhow).

It was thickly vegetated-- with grass, primarily-- and had thorns and small, woody plants, as well.

But a majority of it was just clumpy grass, so it was sufficient (besides, we didn't have many other choices).

So I'm running around in the field trying to find a decent spot to film from, and we start filming, and everything's good, and then once we're finished everything, I realize.

My iPhone wasn't in my pocket.

So I'm looking around the ground to see if I dropped it, I'm tracing my steps, I comb the entire field. Then, I comb the path I took here (the first field, the street, the sidewalks, etc.).

I couldn't find it.

We were looking out until 8:30.

Then, when my parents came to pick me up, I told them, and just my family and I continued searching until 9:30-10, and then we came back the next morning at 7 and searched until 8:30...

And we didn't find it.

So my parents called the police, asking if anyone had turned a phone in...

And the worst part is that my iPhone has its actual phone function disabled, so you can't use it to call or text or anything, so I couldn't just call it and see if someone had picked it up or whatever.

My parents were going mad, and I was calmly trying to copy all of my research on my iPhone onto my computer from memory.

I was planning out how I'd manage the things that relied on my iPhone without it...

And then later that day (afternoon-ish), the police call and say someone turned in an iPhone, and I'm just like, "Oh, that's nice."

I pick it up and everything's great and all (except my parents are paranoid about me taking it places, now).

Just goes to show-- someone needs to teach me how to tap into my emotional side.
