Point Blank

((... don't ask about the title. xD i couldn't think of anything better.))

"I can't lose, I can't, I wont!"

The female's voice echoed through the empty hallway that she walked through. Her guard was high and a sweat drop rolled down her forehead after all the running. A finger twitched over the trigger of a nerf gun being held. Decked out in all black, she was sure that she would win the game.

A laughter echoed behind her, creeping up closer to her location. 'Shit!' she screamed in her head. She whipped around and held up the nerf gun, only to have a nerf bullet hit her chest.

"Ahahahaha! I win again, Jenny!!!" A sandy haired male walked up out of the shadows laughing. Jenny pouted as she picked up the bullet from the ground.

"You're too quick for me, Alfie! I haven't gotten a chance to shoot once!" America just kept on laughing.

"What do you expect?! The Hero NEVER loses!!!" He made a triumphant pose of victory, still laughing.

Jenny smiled and laughed. "I'll get you one day, Alfie. Just you wait." She walked up to him and flicked the bullet at his forehead.

America laughed a bit more. "You can try, Jenny! But it'll never happen!" He smiled and winked.

Jenny blushed a little as she looked off to the side. She smirked and burst out laughing. "Putting me down before i can even try? I love the support~" She placed the gun back onto its table and looked back at America and grinned.

America joined her, returning the gun as well, and patted Jenny on the head. "I'll admit, though, you're starting to get better!"

Jenny smiled as her cheeks heatened once again. "Hehheh. Thanks, Alfie. So then maybe I will be able to beat you one day."

America laughed again and started to head to the door. "Let's take it one day at a time! See ya tomorrow, Jenny!" He waved with his back still towards her and left.

Jenny sighed and made her way out as well, making her way back home.

"Calling all hunters..." The television in Jenny's room blared. "Tomorrow morning, a tournament will be held at the shooter's range. It will be a one - on - one hunt. All hunter's interested should be at the shooter's range tomorrow."

Jenny blinked at the television as she finished her dinner. "Hmm... Hunting tournament?"

She put her plate in the sink and picked up her cell phone, giving America a quick call, but remembering to hold the phone away from her ear once she dialed.

"SUP DUDE?!"

She returned the phone to her ear. "Alfie! Did you see the news on T.V?"

"TOTALLY DUDE!! I was just about to call you and ask if you wanted to go!!" America replied.

Jenny smiled. "Definitely~"

"GREAT! I'll pick you up at your house then!!" America said, Jenny could tell he was also smiling widely on his end of the line as well.

Pondering for another moment, Jenny spoke up. "I have a deal to make with you first though."

"What's that, dude?"

"How about we make a bet for ourselves?" She grinned a bit.

America paused. "Alright!! So if I win, you gotta treat us to McD's!" He laughed heroically.

Jenny rolled her eyes, still grinning. "I can deal with that, and if I win, you gotta..." She paused, blushing at the first thing she thought of. "You... gotta..."

"I'll give you a victory kiss!!" America finished for her.

Jenny went silent as her face turned completely red. 'Please tell me he only said that on coincidence...' she thought. Coughing, she spoke again. "U-um... y-yeah. ....Deal?"

"DEAL!" America repeated. Jenny had an odd feeling that he was slightly blushing, too.

She smiled. "See you tomorrow, then, Alfie."

"LATER JENNY!"

She hung up, now anxious about the day that laid before her.

America came to get her the next morning. They walked down to the shooting range and waited in line for their turn to get in. They were there surprisingly early, so the wait wasn't long.

Entering their 'stage', they picked up their regular nerf guns and disappeared to their proper stations. Once the alarm sounded, their game had begun. They were now enemies for the moment.

bzzt... "Yo! Jenny! Can ya hear me?!" America's voice came in loud... very loud... and clear in the headset that Jenny wore.

"Yup. I hear ya, Alfie." Jenny walked around in the shadows carefully, holding her nerf gun ready and keeping her guard high.

"AWESOME!" Jenny laughed. "HEY! LISTEN!! We should totally add something to our bet!"

Jenny ducked behind an alley of stacked boxes, being able to hear America's laughter echo from her headset to being somewhere close or far away from her position. "Oh? And what should we add?" She smirked a bit.

"If I win, you totally gotta call me the Hero for the rest of the year, too!!" America said, another laughter following behind.

Jenny also laughed. "Heehee~ Okay, okay, Hero <3" They both laughed for a moment, and then silence.

"Well?" America continued. "What are you gonna add to your bet!?"

Jenny stayed in silence for another moment, trying to think. "If I win..." she kept thinking. "You have to be my Hero, even when I don't need to be saved."

America went silent, she knew he was probably quietly blushing again. A burst of laughter rang through her ears. "IT'S A DEAL!"

Jenny heard his last phrase echo again out of the headset. 'He's close.' She thought. The stakes were high for her. She didn't want to lose. More like... she couldn't lose.

Footsteps grew nearer with their every step. Carefully taking a peek, Jenny saw the shadow of her opponent getting closer. She glanced up to see if his guard was also up. She wasn't surprised that the nerf gun dangled casually from his hand next to his leg. For once, she had her chance.

Popping out from behind her hiding spot, she aimed her gun and readied it. "I finally win, Alfie!"

America laughed, and his gun was held up, as if it were being held up the whole time. "Let's see if you actually do, Jenny!"

They stared into each others eyes for a moment, and right at the same time, two shots went off.

A nerf bullet hit Jenny on the forehead right when a bullet hit America to the chest. Knowing that it was a tie, Jenny decided to put on a show.

"Oh no!" She head her forehead and began to act dizzy. "I've been hit... it's the end for me!" She slumped to the ground in a dramatic fashion and pretended to die.

America tried to keep away his laughing fit. "Jenny!" He hurried over to her and kneeled at her side. "You can't die now, Jenny!"

Jenny opened an eye and looked up at America. "I... I can't? But I can already see the light~"

America laughed. "Then let me be your hero and save you!!!" Keeping to the other part of their bet, he leaned down and gave Jenny the "kiss of life".

It lasted for only a moment before Jenny quickly rolled away, her face brighter than tomato. America laughed at her reaction.

"Sweet! You're alive!!"

Jenny looked back, her face still completely red, and smiled. "Well of course. I was just saved by a Hero."

They both laughed. Before Jenny knew it, America had scooped her up and started walking towards the door, carrying her. Her blush somehow went brighter.

"Wh-what are you doing, Alfie?!"

"Going to McD's with you, dude!! Your treat, remember?! And I thought I told you to call me Hero!"

Jenny blinked. She burst out with laughter, remember that their 'war' was a tie. "hehe, I didn't forget... my Hero~"
