Ode to The Elder Ones

Clouds gray as concrete
Hide a sky blue as baby's breath
The sun hides behind the slate gray clouds, mourning over a lost friend

This room and its suffocating silence enclose like a plus sized coffin
Night approaches as shadows flit and dance a jagged dances and hide gruesome figures of dark lore

Nightmares attack my sleepless mind with every close of my eyes
Insomnia is the only chance of peace from the insanity of my subconscious

Dark beings of writhing, pulsating, slippery flesh
Chanting and murmuring things in low guttural tones

Invoking insane glimpses of the woes of Man's bleak future
The lives of all of humanity being held in the grasp of the Elder Ones

With the crash of seas life ceases
Only Their cultists have the pleasure of dying quickly

All of the other poor souls are trapped to prolonged suffering and torment

- With a shock i jolt awake
My mind reeling from the horrendous nightmare my mind just went through

Hands shaking and pulse racing
I lay awake for the rest of this dark night

With another quick shiver i rise up from my sweat soaked bed
And exit my room to get something to soothe my rattled nerves

I glance outside to see the freshly fallen snow
As I do my mind goes

Into a deep and shadowy abyssal land
for I have now seen the eyes of the Elder ones

My tale has reached its end 'tis true
I hope many a pleasant nights sleep my friends

And I pray that They do not come for you too
As this fate is worse than death

To quote the master of these beings dark lore
"That is not dead which can eternal lie.
...And with strange aeons even death may die"
