BEGIN CHAPTER 1

--------------------------------

It was hot, so hot that you could breath in the heat, and it choked you.

But this was what she lived for. The heat, the thick heat that smothered you, and the only way to escape was to shove your head down into the salty solution.

Long black hair swirled along behind in the swimmer, the swimmer swirled through the current letting it take her out in the water, then wait for a wave to slam her back into the shore. She grinned as another one came. Harder and burned her face, like a hot pan.

BOOM.
It hit face on, like a hot pair of hands pushing her back, she dug her fingers into the sand, holding herself as water immersed her body. It pulled on the ebony strands, hard, and pushed up her nose, stinging.

Finally it was calm, until the next storm hit. She looked up at the glittering lights of the surface and let go of the sand and let the air stored in her lungs be her lift.

She hit the surface carefully, unlike most people she did'nt gasp for breath unless she had been under a long time, but breathed through her nose. Clearing the passage.

Being safe, she looked around to see how far she was out, not too far. She could still make out the details in the faces of beach goers. But her heart ache for rest and she decided rest would be a good idea.

Waiting patiently, she let the waters carry her back. Slowly, harsh at the same time. Finally the sounds of the beach drowned out the ocean's own music. She could hear a stereo blasting an unfamiliar tune and a man yelling at his wife over spilled potato salad. Looking over, she spotted her own checkered towel by an old umbrella, a tiny cooler sat beside it along with two other towels, a blue one, and an ancient tweety bird one.

Standing up, she made her way towards the towels and reached into the cooler for a Cola. Popping the can, she looked up to see a blond boy making his way over, smiling she said "Hey Gin."

"Eh Vennie!" the boy said in a brilliant Australian accent. "ow was your swim?"

She shrugged," Fine, not too bad. I wish the waves were bigger though."

He shrugged back, "Meh, Not too sunny either."

Vennesa set her coke down and pulled on her towel, "I'll never get a tan."

"Tans are supposed to be bad for yer skin y'know." Gin teased spreading out on his own blanket.

"Too many. But I need alittle sun. I'll start looking like Marilyn Manson if not." she chuckled and smiled smoothly at the blond.

"Don't joke bout that kinda stuff. Might happen y'know."

"Oh Gin don't be stupid."

"Imnot!"

Vennesa sighed and laid back. Taking in the warmth of the exposed sun. Though it was cloudy, it was still hot.

Like a good summer, she thought warmly before reaching over for a pair sunglasses by her coke. Slowly, she began to nod, 'No Vennie, don't fall asleep.'but the warning did'nt work, Vennesa Rodes fell asleep in the hot air, and now naked sun. Letting it sink it into her legs, up to her arms, and deep down into her smooth, round cheeks. Her friend Gin was nice enough to notice her sleeping state and place his blanket over her body and head to prevent a sun burn. Gin then ran off to throw a frisbee with another friend.
