This post is less of a news update and more of a mini-rant. I just read on ANN that the next Madoka Magica movie, which was supposed to come out in Japanese theaters next month, has been delayed yet again. The reason for the delay is some sort of unspecified production issue. According to the movie's website, a new release time for the film will be announced next month. Right now I'm hoping that the new release date will be some time within this coming year.
What I don't get is what sort of production issue could be delaying the film. I mean we've gotten four finished trailers for the movie! What more do they still have left to do?!
But yeah, I'm feeling pretty jerked around right now. This movie has had numerous delays already, and just when it seemed like it was finally going to happen, they pulled the rug out from under us and said, "gotcha!"
I'm also kind of concerned about the quality of the movie once it finally comes out. If it's been having this many production issues, I can't help but worry that the final product will suffer. I've seen as much happen with titles like Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS.
Anyway, I guess all we can do is wait for them to announce a new release date for the movie next month and hope that it isn't delayed until December of 2028! The longer it takes for this movie to come out in Japan means it'll be even that much longer for those of us in the U.S. to get th see it.
