Ladies and gentlemen, Kansas.
Hello again everyone. I'm back with yet another update about how things are going for me. I guess the best place to start is to talk about that little gaming quest of mine in Sword Art Online: Fractured Daydream that I made sort of a big deal about in my last two posts. To review, my goal was to take part in the four Extreme Boss Raid events in the game in order to obtain special items needed to unlock a new character coming to the game in a big update that's set to happen sometime next month. I beat the first three EX Raids and got the special items from them, but the fourth one...didn't go quite as well as I'd have liked it.
For starters, the beginning of the EX Raid event caught me kind of off guard. I had apparently gotten the start date of the event wrong. Plus every time I took on this boss, I got stomped hard. Thankfully I still managed to obtain the fourth special drop item. All four of the items have a good chance of dropping as a consolation prize. Still, it would've been nice to have actually beaten that boss. Maybe I used the wrong strategy or something.
In any case, once I had gotten the last of those special drop items, I felt no motivation to continue taking part in that EX Raid. The only other special drop item from that raid is a felt hat in the form of a stuffed octopus that you can equip on your characters. I should mention that this stuffed animal hat is wearing its own little top hat. For me, such a hat is hardly good motivation for trying to beat an extra difficult boss monster. And yes, the other three EX Bosses dropped their own special headgear as well, but the hats they dropped were cool!
Anyway, now that I achieved the goal of my quest, I haven't been playing Fractured Daydream as much. In fact for the last couple of weeks now I've been replaying Fire Emblem: Three Houses. The main reason I decided to replay that game is because of this trailer that recently came out.
It seems like this new Fire Emblem game has some sort of connection to Three Houses due to the character that appeared at the very end of the trailer and some other mainly aesthetic details. My guess is this new game ia a prequel, given that its setting looks a little more ancient compared to the setting of Three Houses. There's no way to know for sure at this point though. At the moment, the only real information we have about this new game seems to be the above trailer. In any case, I decided to replay Three Houses in order to give myself a refresher to prepare for this new game whenever it comes out.
I've been playing through a couple of the story routes in Three Houses that I didn't play through the last time I played the game. It felt like the two routes that I did play through never really told the whole story of that world. Of course as much as I like these Fire Emblem games, they are a major time-sucker. It does feel like a good chunk of that time is spent towards watching those character support scenes, but the battles can take a while too. It's also super easy to get caught up playing and totally lose track of time, especially if you're really trying to get to a certain stage.
In other news, my car is currently in the bodyshop getting repairs. I believe I mentioned last month that it took a few dents thanks to this big storm that blew through my town one Saturday morning. Well, last week I finally took my car in to get those dents fixed. The thing is when I arranged the appointment the person I spoke to said that the job would take about three days at most. When my dad and I went to drop the car off though, my dad asked the mechanic on duty how long the repair job would take about five days. Needless to say, I was a little irritated. I'm hoping though that my car will be fixed by tomorrow...unless of course those mechanics don't work on weekends.
That about wraps it up for this post. I guess I should also report that I've made a little more progress on my big Sailor Moon fanfic, Revenge of the Old Ones. Of course I haven't made much progress on the story for the past couple of weeks though because I got sucked into the Fire Emblem hole.
Anyway, until the day we meet again.
