My Random Thoughts

Hello there. Welcome to my world of Random Thoughts. In this world I’ll be posting stuff about anime and manga. Not to mention various other topics. I may post the occasional music video every now and than. And from time to time, I’ll just talk about my life in general. But first, here are a few things about me.

I was born an only child, for one thing. Originally I was planning to go into art professionally, but recently I’ve been more inclined towards writing. I still do the occasional wallpaper every now and then though, and I also still draw a little. But much of my energy these days goes into writing fan fiction. I’ve also recently become interested in archive and library work, which is something I’ve discovered I’m good at. Finally, like most people on the Internet, I like cats.

7-Day Challenge Slam Thoughts

So we have this seven day challenge slam that TheO has going right now. I'm not quite sure if it's very good at encouraging more people to make and or enter challenges. I mean the threat of taking away a feature if we don't do a certain amount of entries might be a little too much pressure. Yes, I'm planning to enter at least two challenges, but I'm not a machine. I can't just churn out wallpapers at the drop of a hat. I'm sure a lot of other people here at TheO are like that too. I think either TheO needs to make this challenge slam longer, or just not threaten to remove a feature. At the very least, they can just take away the feature they just gave us for the comment slam. I know that a lot of people aren't too happy about that one. That's all I have to say on the subject.

Another Typo Corrected

By now, many of you have seen a wallpaper that I've previously done show up in your backrooms again.

This Wallpaper to be precise.

That's because this morning I discovered a major typo. I misspelled "Cthulhu", which is an easy mistake to make. But it wasn't a typo I could let pass. I tried editing the original and resubmitting it, but for some reason TheO wouldn't display the corrected version. So I went ahead and just deleted the original version and submitted the corrected one. So sorry for the inconvenience, and for probably spaming everyone's backrooms with this post.

Heads Up!

Just thought I'd remind everyone that my current wallpaper challenge, Ice To See You, ends at the end of this week. So if you were planning to enter but haven't yet, now is the time to do it. I'll probably post who the winners are here when it's over, depending on my mode and how much time I have. That is all.

Out With the Old, In With the New

Well, today is the last day of 2011. I always get mixed emotions at this time of year. For one thing it means that the holiday party is just about over, and soon many of us will have to go back to school, or work, or whatever it is we all do during an ordinary day. It's also kinda sad because another year has gone down the drain, and we'll never get that year back. Then again it's also kinda nice that things are moving forward. A new year means new possibilities, so it's a little exciting too.

I believe that horror writer H.P. Lovecraft once said that the greatest fear is the fear of the unknown. I think he was right about that, because there are two great unknowns in life, death and the future. The future can be very frightening. Why do you think that The Ghost of Christmas Future in A Christmas Carol has such a spooky appearance? I think we're all scared of the future from time to time, that we all dread the outcome of certain things. There seem to be a lot of people out there who dread that at the end of next year the world will blow up or something. I'd like to know just what makes these people think that the Mayans knew when the world was going to end.

Anyway, most of the time the things we dread turn out to be nothing at all, that we were all just making a mountain out of a molehill. We can all dread 2012 if we want, but in the end it'll just be another year. And who knows, maybe 2012 will be a bad year for some, or maybe it'll be a really good year. We just don't know. Heck, chances are it'll just be another average year.

On that, sometimes I like to think about what the previous year was like. Was it a good year, was it a bad year, did I accomplish anything major? For me this past year had its good parts and bad parts, so it was an average year. As for major accomplishments, I think getting my driver's license counts. I also sometimes try to imagine what the next year will be like based on events that are planned for that year. For one thing I know that there will be the olympics and a presidential election this coming year, so that'll be a little crazy. I also know that Shonen Jump magazine is going completely digital, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. That's a subject for another post though.

Well, those are my thoughts on the subject. I'll close by saying that one of my hopes for this year is that Adult Swim will get some new anime. Right now the only new dubbed anime they have is Bleach, everything else is reruns. I mean it's like the CW 4kids Toonzai lineup. Anyway, Happy New Year.

Another Rung Up the Ladder
