Chapter 2; Fallout

Nium came back home early in the morning after his party with his friends and immediately went to bed. He had gone to a party they had set up with various people from his school. They ate drank and played games all night and he came back when most of the others fell asleep.

When he woke up in the morning, the air had a strange feel to it as he walked down the stairs. He walekd into the kitchen and did what he did every morning, drank juice and ate a fruit. While he ate, he searched around the house but did not find anyone inside. He called out to Reny and his aunt and got no reply.

Nium walked out of his back door and saw the devestation, the whole sector had been wiped out and the doors to the other sectors had closed. He knew that a hole opened on the roof of the cave and radioactive debri fell onto the area, the roof was torn and dismantled and most of the buildings had been completly wiped out. He ran around the neighbor hood yelling to see if anyone was alive.

He gave up after a half hour and walked back to his house, his house had been under a small indent in the rocks and was saved from the debris. Nium walked through the front door of his house and started to pack his clothes and belongings so he could leave. He had cleared out most of the clothes he needed into his luggage and looked for means to protect himself from animals. He found knives and a big sword that he didnt know if he could use, he took it anyway.

When Nium walked out of his house he heard crying near the back of the the cave by the rocks and went to check it out, there he saw his little cousin Reny curled into a bloody ball crying. He called out to her and she jumped up and ran over to him. Nium looked her over and found that she had lost her arm and was bleeding quite badly, he ran her inside and carefully knocked her out.

He grabed some knives, needles, thread, and cloth and set to work. he lit a fire and burned the needle to sterilize it and sewed up the little girls arm as she was asleep. When he finished patching her up, nium wrapped up her chest in some cloth and let her sleep as he gathered her clothes. He packed all of her clothes into his luggage and took her teddy bear down to her. He strapped the luggage and the broad sword to his back and picked up his cousin into his arms and walked into the debris of his once thriving sector.
