Hey, I'm WildGirl1977 (aka Lena). I'm a punk rocker, hence the name of the blog :)It's a play on the Ramones song "Sheena Is A Punk Rocker". I like anime (duh), sci-fi, comics, and rock and roll. just lost a subscriber...

Looks like I've gone from 49 to 48. I don't get it. I know I'm kinda annoying, but why would someone go out of their way to make sure I don't show up on their feed anymore? That's just rude.
Sorry, I now I'm taking this to personally. It's just frustrating. I've been active for almost a year and I don't even have fifty subscribers. And a lot of the people I subscribe to don't bother to subscribe back to me. I mean, I know not everyone does sub backs, but it always feels like they're just ignoring me. Like, "oh, I'm far to important to deign to acknowledge your presence." Okay, rant over. I'm sorry, I just needed to get that off my chest.

can't find portal :(

Hey guys! I have a question. My brother recently got a PS3 and he's been shopping for games for it. I suggested he buy Portal and showed him some gameplay and stuff, and he got excited and put it on his list of games he wants. Well, we've looked just about everywhere and couldn't find a copy of Portal. Amazon, Ebay, Gamestop-we even tried Craigslist and no one has the game. There's Portal 2 and there's the Orange Bundle, but no standalone PS3 copies. Why is it so rare? Is there somewhere we haven't looked that we should try? And if there's just no way of getting the game, would it be terrible to skip to Portal 2? Also, if anyone has PS3 recommendations we'd love to hear them.

Hey guys!
Things are going well-ish in Lenaland. I'm still at my crappy fast food job, but I talked to the manager of the gourmet ice cream shop down the street from me and she said that she would be hiring within the next few weeks, and the fact that I'm taking a gap year and won't be leaving in the fall was "very appealing."

Remember that DC Comics workshop I applied for? I finally heard back from them about my submission...aaaaand it was rejected. Ah, well. I wasn't sure how I was gonna get to Burbank CA anyway.
I emailed Bruce Campbell a link to my drawing of him this morning. I wanted to mail him the original, but his street address isn't on the website-for good reason, I'm sure.
Is anyone else thinking about going to Anime Boston next spring? An anime con is something that's been on my bucket list for ages, and since I'm taking a gap year I'll be free next spring. Plus I actually have money for tickets now, which helps If I do end up going I'm gonna cosplay as Samus Aran-I'll be going as Zero Suit Samus because I don't want to try and build a Chozo Power Suit as my first cosplay. Anyway, bodysuits and cosplay wigs are surprisingly affordable, and instead of those damn heels I'll wear my hot pink Doc Martens. Much more practical. I'm gonna try to finish it for Halloween so I can sort of test-run the costume, and if it comes out well I'll definitely post pictures.
