Well finally I am back again with another day of SoulSilver. As you can see from my little summary, I've gotten a bit done. Nami evolved as I was training her at Sprout Tower and learned PoisonPowder not too long before she did. Using PoisonPowder, I took out Faulkner, Violet City's Flying Type Gym Leader, with ease. But not before freaking out that I couldn't get another member of my team until after the battle. You know, I SWORE you could get into Route 36's tall grass and catch some Pokemon before making the Sudowoodo leave, but I guess not.
But anyway, using a combination of PoisonPowder and Tackle, Faulkner was no match for my Bayleef. The super-effective hits did little damage, which pleasantly surprised me. And tada! First badge!
After that, I was given the Egg by Professor Elm's aide, and was approached by a geisha girl who creeped me out a bit. I'm pretty sure she's only in the remakes, but whatever. Yay!
And so I exited Violet City, avoiding almost all trainer battles because I'll need them for training new team members. And speaking of which, I caught an Onix in Union Cave! And he was a JERK to catch, let me tell you. I was pulling my hair out looking for a male Onix. I swear, it must have taken me over an hour. And that was with a 10% chance of finding one. Just wait. There's a Pokemon on my team of a specific gender I want that only has a 1% chance of appearing. GAH. (dies a little inside)
But that's it! Nothing else really happened. I'm saving the rest of Union Cave for the next time I play. We're coming up on one of my favorite Pokemon villains of all time! :D
