New York Anime Festival

Hey everyone! It's been far too long since I actually sat down and wrote a post. Every time I see the site, I always tell myself that I'm going to start being a lot more active here (both posting and visiting) but school has a marvelous way of interfering with that plan. I'll definitely still try though.

So, I guess the main point of this post will be dedicated to NYAF. I found out about it at Comic-Con in June and had been looking forward to it for a while. I can safely say that I wasn't disappointed. I finally had a chance to meet Adam in person which was an unexpected treat. He had a nice panel about how to become famous online which I'm glad I didn't miss.

I'd also like to congratulate ElvesAteMyRamen on her wonderful panel on coloring your artwork. It's great to see a member of this site go so far with her art (and she certainly deserves it)!

The other highlight of the trip was definitely meeting Voltaire and seeing him play live. I've been a fan of his music for a while now (I guess since that episode of Billy and Mandy with the giant brain that comes from space and eats everyone else's' brains - that was his song) so finally getting a chance to see him play was great.

Now, in non-convention related news, we have school. As mentioned before, school is pretty much eating all of my time. I guess that's to be expected though since I have 19 credits this semester. I guess it could be worse though so I won't complain just yet.

Anyway, it's time to make good on my promise and get around to all of your sites. I'm sorry I haven't visited in so long and I'm sure I've missed quite a bit but that just means I'll have something to read when I'm bored ^_^ Thanks to those of you who are still reading this though and have a great day!

Finally, some long overdue comments:

Molly:
The zoo definitely was the highlight of my working over the summer. There was just something about being able to roam around with nobody else there and look at the animals doing whatever it is they do at night that was fun. Being able to sit back, play games, and watch TV while at work didn't hurt either ^_^

PhoenixClawth:
The budgies at the zoo were essentially the same except that you got seed sticks instead of nectar. I can't say I've ever had one nibble on my earring (though that's really because I don't have one to begin with).
