I really admire this person...

When I was taking a rest (for my bruises to heal...), I took the opportunity to watch Love Story On Video Written by Marcelo Santos III on YouTube. Its a series of love stories uploaded in YouTube by user MarceloSantosIII. His videos are inspired from "songs with lyrics" videos uploaded in the site. But instead of putting lyrics, he decided to make a story behind the song.

I was truly amazed by his stories. Take note, that his videos are in Filipino language (with the exception of "A SOLDIER'S LOVE" a love story). Most of his stories end sadly and I admit that a few of them (only few) are predictable, but still gives the viewers a "touch of romance" in their hearts. No wonder that his vids are totally a hit! I'm not much into love stories but his stories are a must-read!

Marcelo reveals in an interview that the concepts for his stories are inspired from the love stories of his friends and even from himself. And that factor gives his stories a "realistic" feeling especially in the modern times.

My favorite one is "backstage" a musical love story. Its very cute and I like the sweetness of the male protagonist. Aside from that, I also like the female and male rendition of the song Bad Romance by Lady Gaga which he used as background music. I've been searching those two versions in YouTube for weeks... (since Marcelo won't reveal whose covers were those songs). And finally I found them!

Just wanna thank angel12345587 for finding the female version and abe122707 for finding the male version. You are the best!

the ending made me cry...

I took the chance to read all the available Saiyuki anthology in Manga Fox. I read the Saiyuki Gaiden.

Saiyuki Gaiden is set 500 years before the actual Saiyuki series. It tells the life of a nameless heretical child who was sent in heaven to be guided by the gods, who was later named Goku. The story focuses on Goku's past life in the upper world together with the incarnates of the Sanzo-ikkou and his newly-found friend Nataku. It also reveals the "crime" that Goku made in heaven which resulted for him to be imprisoned for 5 centuries.

In my opinion, its just a simple story. Goku is portrayed as an innocent child who just wants to play and have fun, which differs from his Saiyuki persona where he has a prankster disposition and loves fighting.

Creator Kazuya Minekura made Goku the cutest and most pure child she could ever imagine. The twists and turns in the story appeared when Goku and his friends were accused of being rebels. They later had the will of escaping to heaven and live on earth for the sake of child.

I knew that its a sad ending but it definitely brought tears in my eyes. Its the first time that I actually cried just because of reading a story. I'm not that emotional but Saiyuki Gaiden tore my heart into pieces. I was already droping tears when the Sanzo-ikkou incarnates are dying one by one and Goku is the only one left.

I felt more pain when I saw this scene:

"You were the one who reached out to me first. Next time, I promise... I'll be the one to reach for you. I'll definitely reach for you."

For me, the most painful part of the story is when Kanzeon Bosatsu was ordered to use her powers to erase Goku's memories in heaven. Kanzeon Bosatsu tells Goku that his punishment is to be imprisoned for 500 years. She erased all of his memories except his name.

"I don't know where this is. I don't even know how long I've been here..."

I felt relieved when Sanzo is shown releasing Goku in prison. Which I think is the fulfillment of Konzen's (Sanzo's incarnate) promise.

Read Saiyuki Gaiden here.

Its the banner that I personally made for my own world here in theO. It features Son Goku from Saiyuki manga by Kazuya Minekura. Goku is my favorite from the four Saiyuki boys since we’re both cheerful and we even share the same botomless pit *haha*…

The title came from an artbook named Backgammon Remix. This artbook contains beautiful illustrations made by Minekura herself from her different mangas, mainly Saiyuki. I saw the Saiyuki boys have each one-line description. Among them, I like Goku’s best.

SON GOKU a cheerful straightforward kid who is perpetually hungry

I kinda liked the “perpetually hungry” part since it also describes me! (and I’m not that much of a straightforward kid… ~)

I made a "Goku's fan" version...

In this one, I took out the “the ups and downs of josephine12cute” and replaced it with “son goku, the high-spirited boy”.

For those who don’t know, “the high-spirited boy” tagline is actually another one-line description of Son Goku. I saw it in Backgammon which is another Minekura artbook.

Well, hope you find it nice…
