I ran after Rina, too late to stop her from seeing what Ryuu and Aisling were doing. We rushed outside, and it was like we weren't even on the same plain of existence. The sky was strangely colored, the houses were gone, the trees were gone. It was a barren land the likes of which I had never seen before. I was too much in awe of this strange place to pay much attention to the fighting that Puck, Brant, and Ryuu seemed to be having.
"What's going on?!" Rina demanded. "What happened, and who's that guy?! A friend of yours?" I turned my attention to the guy in question. There was an odd familiarity I felt when looking at the guy, but I couldn't figure out why.
"Not that I know of," Nino said glaring darkly at the man. It looked like he was ready to get his spirit gun out. I decided that it would be a good idea for me to concentrate on the spirit gun, too just in case I needed to call it out.
"I think it's okay Nino," Ryuu assured him. "It looks like he doesn't have enough energy to fight." I stopped focusing at this and moved to stand next to Ryuu, which seemed to comfort me some, but I was still feeling really weird about how familiar this guy seemed to be.
The guy sat down and I finally asked, "So who and what are you?"
He looked up at me and our eyes met for a moment, "I'm Kuro."
