"That's a very impressive barrier you have around this area." Ohno committed as his eye moved around the place in a calm fashion that one does when he is inspecting something. I can only get half surveillance in here at best, and the spiritual pre...

Helga breathed outward clasping her throat as she managed to materialize in the demonic realm. Her entire body was on edge, yet she had managed it. She stood a fraction but leaned with her arms on her legs as she breathed out slowly and rather in ...

I ate until I was busting full, but E-kun didn't seem to eat much.
"I'm not that hungry..." he passed. "I don't normally eat much anyway..." I gave him a strange look, but ate on.
Finally, the meal was done, and everyone started home. Standing up by E-kun, I watched and smiled as they all exited the booth. When everyone was gone, me and E-kun left together, very last. Once we were out, the street was quiet.
"Can I ask something?" he asked suddenly.
"Sure! Go ahead!" I said with a smile, looking up at him.
"Why the hell do you act so happy?" my smile dropped for a second, but I smiled again. "You don't have anywhere to stay, do you? Everyone else has somewhere to go, and someone to go with or meet there! How can you act like it doesn't matter that you don't even have a home?!" His voice raised to near a yell, and I stopped, looking up at the moon just rising in the sky.
"I won't ask how you know that," I started. He let in a small sharp breath. "But I will tell you this. There was one time, I believed I never was alone, because of the spirits with me. But although they tried to comfort me, I was slowly starting to realize that they were no real people. If I only had them, I was going to go crazy soon." Moving my gaze from the moon to the ground. "I had no where to go but a false home. Somewhere I knew I didn't belong. So I left. To tell the truth, I knew the demon lords had appeared at the school. I decided I meant nothing, so sacrificing my life fighting was no big deal. I didn't have a vesle spirit, but who doesn't want to die fighting, right?" I looked up at him and smiled, but I couldn't meet his eyes. "Then Ohno and the others saved me. I never expected such kindness. And when I woke up I met you. Even through your tough looks and demon backround, I could just feel that you were like me. Tell me, you don't have anywhere to go either, do you?" He just sighed.
"No, I don't. But it doesn't matter, okay? I have..."
"A house? Some remaining family? Your summons? I told myself the same thing." I looked up to my right at the street light. "We loners gotta stick together, alright?" I said. "I'm going to the school. Do what you want, but promise me you'll find me again tomarrow, 'kay?"
"Uh, sure..." E-kun said. We walked in silence for a few more seconds, then he stopped, and a few steps later, I did too. "I'll steer off here." He said.
"Okay! See you!" I smiled without looking at him. As I heard him walk off, I started running. Running from nothing, running to nothing. Running for the sake of running. I was no athlete, but in my heart, I felt free... I felt like I could out run everything that wrong. After several minutes, I slowed down, panting. Looking around, I realized I hadn't ran as far as I thought. The school has to be quite a ways away from here still. Turning down a new street, I felt a familiar spirit energy. Aiba wasn't far behind me.
"Hey!" he said, catching up with me. I turned and smiled.
"Hi, Aiba-kun!" I said merrily. "Didn't think I'd find you out here! If I had known we were going the same way I would have walked with you!"
"Where are you going, by the way?" he asked me. I paused.
"Well... I was going to the school..." I said.
"You don't have anywhere to go do you?" He asked after an awkward pause.
"Heh heh! Nope!" I laughed lightly. "I was just going to stake it out there. I'll live!" I smiled brighter.
