"Will you go with me?"

This song is called "Will you go with me?" By Josh Turner.

"Alright, today is the day that I am finally going to tell her."
"That's nice dear." His mother replied absent-mindedly as she cooked breakfast, her youngest son putting her to sleep as he strummed on his guitar.
"Now," he muttered, tapping the pencil against his head. "How do I tell her?"
"Well, why don't you write her a song, she loves music."
Blue eyes widened, "Mom, you're a genius, why didn't I think of it before!"
"Yes, now would you be so kind as to tell your father and your brothers that?" She called out as the screen door slammed shut.

Walking down the dirt road, he thought of ways to tell his best friend that he was desperately in love with her? Well, maybe he shouldn't tell her so much as ask her. She was always saying about how it was inportant to have choices. As he walked past a field of clover, thinking about how lost he was, he pulled out his notebook.

Would you go with me if we were lost in fields of clover
Would we walk even closer until the trip was over
And would it be okay if I didn't know the way?

"Hmm, not bad. I like it." He kept walking, letting his feet lead him on while he glanced up at the sky. "The clouds look so free, just like she should be..." He smiled, "I bet if she was up there she would be terrified, after looking down of course."

Would you go with me if we rode the clouds together
Could you not look down forever
If you were lighter than a feather
Oh, and if I set you free, would you go with me

As he was walking, adding more lyrics and perfecting the tune, he didn't notice that he had left the clover field and the fluffy clouds behind and was now on the road that would lead him to her house. As he was walking, he looked up and noticed all the couples holding hands. It seemed like a nice gesture to him so he added it to his song.
Waking by a little house painted blue, he heard a little girl ask her mom if the sea was real. "Yes sweetie," the mom told her softly. "It's where you can find out if dreams are real or not." Thinking about it, he added that too.
By the time he got to her house, he had the song completely finished. Picking up a small pebble, he threw it at her window.
"What are you doing here?" She opened the window and called out, surprised. In reply he started to play on his guitar and sing her his song.

If I gave you my hand would you take it
And make me the happiest man in the world
If I told you my heart couldn't beat one more minute without you, girl
Would you accompany me to the edge of the sea
Let me know if you're really a dream
I love you so, so would you go with me

Smiling, she said yes.
