Jamaican Online Gambling Case Dismissed

Jamaica Observer: "Spiroz Atanas, whose Montego Bay-based Internet gambling company was shut down last year for violating betting games and lottery committee laws, can now resume betting unless it makes local bets.

"The lawsuit filed by BGLC against Atanas broke down because Michael Surridge, the main witness of the prosecution, did not testify, and all eight charges were dismissed.

"BGLC suspended operations based in Montego Bay Free Zone in 2004, claiming that Atanas was illegally receiving bets via the Internet and international toll-free calls.

"…The company was initially licensed to run its telemarketing business in the free zone, but entered gambling by betting around the world, including Jamaica. The prize money had to be sent abroad." 릴게임
