Random Song(s) That I've Grown to Love

So I was browsing youtube last night to see if the full versions of SIH S2 op/end were out (sadly no), and I stumbled across the character songs for SIH. Honestly, I wasn't aware that there were character songs O_o I guess this is what college does to you...you begin to not stay in the loop on the important crap, eh?

Anyways, most of them didn't spiritually move me too much, only one did. And it was one of Yoshino Chiaki's. Surprisingly, his voice is deep(ish?) and it's very...mature. And calming. Super zen. Not something I'd expect from Chiaki given his personality (of course, I haven't looked up the translations for this song yet, so for all I know the meaning of this song could fit him perfectly). Anyways, I thought you'd all like to hear it as well. It's called Onaji Hikari ("Same Light") if I'm not mistaken--please correct me if I'm wrong. Any and all Japanese I know comes from watching copious amounts of anime in Japanese with english subs ^^;;

Also, over the summer, I got into Vocaloid. Now I know Vocaloid's been around for eons, but I just never got around to really listening to the songs--I had "Kokoro," but for some reason I never really looked into anything else. But either way, I got into it over the summer, and honestly--I love it. My favorite has to be Luka--I find her voice to be the least squeaky. Miku is alright, but she tends to go a little too high pitch for me sometimes. I love Rin and Len as well. But mostly, I adore Luka (plus her outfit rocks ^,^), and so I wanted to share some of my favorite songs of hers:

Just Be Friends--probably my favorite Vocaloid song overall

The Wanderlast--this one took me a while to get used to, but after giving it a few shots, it grew on to me.

Double Lariat--I just love the meaning of this song ^^

Moonlight Waltz--this is actually a duet of Luka and Len. I love the beginning, especially. Only wish it was longer u.u

Other Vocaloid songs that I adore include:

Butterfly on Your Right Shoulder (Rin/Len)

Spinning Song (Rin/Len)--I love the refrain mostly

Honey (whole buncha vocaloids)--cover of a Taiwanese girl group song that was inspired by ABBA. How could I not love it?

Cheers~

Cue Epic Fangirl Squeals Here

Ok, so I know it's been ages since I updated this thing--life's been a bitch lately and this just kinda slipped my mind. BUT! I am back, and dear me, have I been squealing for the past few days. Why, you ask? Because Sekaiichi Hatsukoi's fourth couple is downright friggin' ADORABLE.

Yes, that's right. For those of you who don't know yet, SIH now has 4 definite couplings: there's OnoderaxTakano (aka Nostalgia), Chiaki x Tori (aka Domestica), Kisa x Yukina (Erotica), and *cue drumroll* YOKOZAWA X KIRISHIMA (aka TRIFECTA)!!!

Yes, the fourth couple is Yokozawa and the editor in chief of JAPUN, Kirishima. Needless to say, I absolutely ADORE this coupling, mainly because of Kirishima. He's just so....AMAZING. For one thing, he's absolutely gorgeous (duh). Plus, he's a total tease--who DOESN'T love a teaser? And, to top it all off, he's a single daddy raising an ADORABLE ten year old girl. C'mon, peoples: hot single daddy who likes to poke the "I am serious. Rawr." Yokozawa's buttons? Can't go wrong!

Another bonus about this couple, is that there is that there isn't gonna be a set seme/uke. In Yokozawa Takafumi no Baai, Yokozawa was the uke (hinting that it was his first time on bottom meaning that Takano was uke when they were going out *kyaa~~~)but Kirishima clearly states that he has no problem with Yokozawa being on top every now and then--so they're gonna flip flop. Which, personally, rocks. As much as I love traditional seme/uke roles (mainly b/c they tend to be adorable), it'd be nice to see a couple where the roles aren't so clear cut, y'know? In Nakaumura-sensei's other works, the uke tries to be on top occasionally (coughmisakicough) and they always end up failing miserably--almost to the point where I feel embarrassed for them--and the Seme takes over and everything goes according to norm. At least with this, things spice up a bit, no?

Another thing that gives this couple a +1000000000000 in my book is that the smex scenes are completely consensual. There's no protesting on behalf of the uke--which seems to be a trend in Nakamura'sensei's work. For example, whenever Takano and Onodera get it on, if he's not moaning or something, Onodera is protesting (hell sometimes even WHEN he's moaning, he protests >.>). Same with Misaki and Usagi-san in Junjou Romantica. It never starts with them both happily making out and leading up to you-know-what. At least with Yokozawa x Kirishima, it was YOKOZAWA who basically told Kirishima to get on with things ^,^

So personally, I am very pleased with this coupling. At first, I didn't like Yokozawa mainly because of how he treated Onodera. But then when his story was heard and Chapter 10 came around, I couldn't help but grow to love the guy--I mean, how heart wrenching was that scene when Takano essentially tells him no, and he has that dejected look on his face? Just made me wish I could hug the guy (yes, I am perfectly aware that he is a manga character and to physically hug him is impossible...we all have dreams >.>). So when I heard rumors that he was actually going to end up with someone, I was happy--it would've sucked if he ended up alone, y'know? But I was also concerned over who the other dude would be. Would he be snazzy? Well, since it's Nakamura-sensei, I knew he'd be awesome in one way or another, but...

And then WHAM! Cue Kirishima who just totally blew me away and had me grinning like an idiot the whole time. I swear, I just cannot get over how awesome this guy is.

Anyways, now that I think I've squealed/fangirled enough to last me a lifetime (pfft. Who am I kidding?), I guess I'll wrap this up now. I'll try to keep this thing more updated, I swear ^^;;

Oh, but before I end this: here's a lookie at our new couple~

And someone on livejournal has been a saint and has provided an english translation of Yokozawa Takafumi no Baai. PLEASE NOTE: I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THIS. All thanks should be given to the wonderful person who took the time to share this with us, so AGAIN: I TAKE NO CREDIT FOR THIS SUMMARY. I merely provide the link to which all can access it.

I guess This is What They Mean When They Say "Abuse the Re-Play Button"

Heya lovies,
So I know I'm a little behind in my SIHK updates-it's two weeks till summer vaca for me. You know what that means: it's crunch time. Meaning, virtual life is essentially non-existent. I did manage to see last week's episode, but haven't had the time for this week's, so seeing how they're both continuations of them, I'll do one giant review when I'm not swimming in finals x,x. Let's just say that I felt last week's was very...rushed. I wasn't super pleased with it, but I shall go into more detail come later. As for now, the main subject of this post is that 2 or 3 days ago the full opening and ending theme for SIHK came out and I thought I'd share the link with y'all. Personally, I love the ending theme. The opening is awesome as hell too, but there's something about the ending theme that I just adore. Told you they'd grow on me, ne? Anywhose, here are the links, hope you all enjoy, have a lovely weekend, etc, etc~

Cheers!

The Opening:

The Ending:

For an Editor, Missing a Deadline isn't Suicidal. It's Living Life on the Edge

Hello all you beauties out there~
What a crazy week it's been for me...with spring break ending, the shitload that somewhat simmered down is now back up at full capacity giving me a few more sleepless nights. Bonzai~ -_-; I do hope y'all are having a much less stressed-filled end of the semester than me.

This week's episode of SIHK opens with a small recap from where last week's ended-beginning with the make out session. As Onodera is about to leave, he runs into Yokozaway who tells him that if Takano-san (or Mamasume, as he calls him by first name) has rebuked him, to stop crying like a baby and start doing non half-assed work. Later, the mangaka that Onodera's in charge of is delayed due to everyone dropping dead on her-seems a nasty flu has been going around, thus delaying the manuscript. So out dashing Onodera heads out of Hokkaido, determined to bring back the manuscript so that way the mangaka won't be dropped from this month's magazine. He succeeds, though a bit late, and apologizes to Yokozawa and Takano-san for acting on impulse and that all this commotion was his fault. While freshening up in the bathroom, Yokozawa appears and tells Onodera that he has some balls for coming to Marakuwa. Onodera is confuzzled by Yokozawa who only confuses him further by saying that it's Onodera's fault that Masamune is all messed up right now. Onodera ponders Yokozawa's words while he and Takano-san take the train home. Onodera eventually falls asleep on Takano-san (squeeeee~~~) and wakes up lying next to Takano-san in bed. His reaction? Priceless.

Well, overall I was pleased with this episode. My favorite part, hands down, was when Onodera was on the phone with the mangaka (what was her name...) and everyone is freaking out around him: Kisa screaming, Takano-san yelling, and that guy whose name I can't remember just falls down into his seat (though I don't think he actually sat down...more like he fell to the floor O_O). And then there's Smiling-24/7-san who looks frazzled. Frazzled, yet still smiling. Love~

Judging from the preview for next week, it appears we're finally gonna have a second pairing! Though...it didn't look like a Yukina x Kisa one O_o. Unless I just missed it, I didn't see Yukina, so I wonder who it is? I know there's a pairing not mentioned in the manga, but that's in the novels and drama CD...wonder if it's that one? I think there were some rumors about them appearing in the anime, so maybe? I hope so especially because I haven't read the novels or heard the drama CD, so I really don't know their story ^^

Well, that's all for now folk~ Hope y'all have a lovely weekend ^.^

Insert Stupid Grin Here, Please

*blinks* O-kaayyy....what's up with the new background at TheO? O_o totally wasn't expecting that. Oh well, that aside you know what I despise greatly? End of semester crap-pile. Interrupts me from things I love. Like Sekaiichi Hatsukoi. Yeah, it's near the end of the semester pour moi so I've been spending the last few nights bullcrapping my way through term papers x.x. But, fortunately, I think I got most of them done...now it's just finals to worry about...T_T

Despite the horror that is the end of the semester, I pulled a couple of all nighters and managed to get enough done so that I could allow myself a half hour for episode 3 of Sekaiichi Hatuskoi. It begins with Takano-san and an unknown figure duking it out over the fact that the magazine has sold out in one day and they need to reprint, causing Mysterious-Person-san to blame Takano-san for not requesting more copies. Takano-san then retorts by saying that he did request for more copies, but the head honchos refused. Turns out this new guy is Yokozawa, from the Sales Department. He ends up being a key figure in the whole Takano-Onodera relationship, but I shall not talk about for those who don't want to be spoiled.

As for my views on this episode, overall I was pleased. However, I was a bit iffy in terms of Yokozawa. First off, I always pictured him to have jet black hair...not to be a blue-head. For me, his hair color was too light-the shade of blue wasn't dark enough, in my opinion. Second is his voice...I dunno why, but when I first heard it, my head titled and I was like "eh?" I guess if it was a little deeper? I dunno...I'm sure it'll grown onto me, but for the time being I'm a little iffy with it.

However, beyond that, I found the episode to be enjoyable. It stuck faithfully to the manga, and it ended on a cliffhanger, which I found to be interesting (the chapter this is based off of goes beyond the whole Onodera opening door and seeing Yokuzawa scene). As for the chu scene, I found the music accompaniment to cause me to grin like an idiot--it just fit very nicely. The overall scene felt slightly rushed, but that could just be because of time restraints.

I wonder when we'll have an episode focusing on the second pairing of this series-the Kisa x Yukina pairing? Because with Junjou Romantica, episode 3 introduced the second pairing...so it seems like by now we should have an episode for them (plus, they are bloody adorable-my only complaint is that Yukina isn't a brunette instead of a blond). But judging from the preview, looks like next week's episode is gonna be another Takano x Onodera related one--picking up from where episode 3 ended.

On a different note, my spring break ends tomorrow and I feel like I need a vacation. Oh, the irony that is my life -_-. Luckily, after this there's only about 2 weeks of classes left and after that is finals...T_T

I should seriously consider becoming a bum. I hear they make on average 40 grand (non-tax deductible)a year. Not bad for sitting on your butt all day and looking le tragique, ne?

Anywhose, enough of me ranting. Hope y'all had a lovely Easter, even if you don't celebrate it--hey, chocolate is non-discriminatory! For all my fellow stressed out college peeps, hang in there! We will (somehow) get through this. As for whether we loose whatever sanity we have left, however, is an entirely different matter ^,^

Cheers,

~GD
